Bottle from CPK. Hazy golden color with a massive eggshell white head. Pretty. The nose is moldy white grape. Some dry wood, straw. Hints of sulphur. The taste is yeasty cheese. More white grape. Some natural buggy flavors. Lemon rind and bark. This beer’s mildly acidic. The body’s medium, active carbonation. The sour, funky flavors of this beer are certainly something to be mulled over, but this doesn’t quite do it for me. Still, it’s another admirable effort from these fine brewers.

330 ml bottle. Cloudy golden colour. Herbal nose with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Christmas-like flavours. Yeasty flavours with a grassy bitter finish. Really nice.

Bottle from The Kernel Brewery. Cloudy amber colour, no head. Sour grassy aroma & flavour. Citrus aftertaste. First Kernel beer I have not liked.

Bottle at cgarvieuk’s Danish Invasion tasting.Hazy pale yellow, white head. Funky herbal saison nose, yeast esters, big lemon zest, clean but complex. Dry juicy citrus, some white pepper, very clean palate with a lingering lemony bitterness. It’s nice, but I like my saisons a bit funkier.

UPDATED: APR 25, 2012 Slight hazy, deep yellow. Persisting, white mid head, good lacing. Nice peachy, floral, citrus, wheaty, slight pleasant yeasty, grassy, hint of banana, sweet orange, quite complex aroma, very nice, but not very strong. Creamy palate. Light carb. Fruity tastes. the saison dryness is quite subtle, which i like. Taste reflects the aroma. Soft, fruity finish. Best tasting saison i’ve had from a British brewery. Also, is it just a statistical fluke that 4 out of the 6 ratings before mine are by Finnish people, or are Kernel just launching an aggressive marketing campaign in Finland?

33 cl bottle @ lusikka, BBE 08.03.2013
Aroma has citrus, wheat and hints of yeast. Flavour is rather strong on citrus. Also bubblegum and hints of wheat. A bit short flavour – maybe 5,2% is just not enough for saison.

330 ml bottle. BBE 08.03.2013.
Pours a hazy yellow colour with a small white head. Aroma of strong citrusy hops and grapefruit. Flavour of strong citrusy hops, wheat, grapefruit, orange peel. Surprisingly strong bitterness. Light bodied, slick mouthfeel and a bitter citrusy finish. Summery beer with extremely good drinkability.

330ml bottle from Utobeer, London

BBE 08/03/13 - Pours pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma of citrusy hops, malts, wheat and spices. Taste is quite mild with some fruity hops, spices, citrus and hints of malts. Finish is sligthly fruity and bitter with medium carbonation and hints of lemon. Okay, quite generic saison.
