Opaque black-brown beer. Short lived tan head. Smooth semi dry palate. Rich dark malty, some roastiness but not tooi much. Fair bit of coffee and a persistent streak of bubblegum sweetness. Licquorice before the dry finish. Nice - just a tad over dry for me.
Bottle from the Brewery. Black pour with a tan head. Dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla and black treacle nose. Coffee, fresh cream, chocolate and vanilla flavours. Slightly smoky. Dry, sweet-roast finish. Very tasty. chriso (7536) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 6, 2011
UPDATED: MAR 13, 2011 330ml bottle @ Christmas tasting on 28 December 2010. Nothing very small about this beer. Almost black with a generous brown head. Big on roast malt and chocolate. Firm mouthfeel - not the biggest for an imperial stout. Lingering burnt notes in the aftertaste tinged with a slight hint of fruit. Very tasty even if, to be honest I tend to prefer the pale hoppy Kernel beers.
