Bottle, 33cl, picked up directly from Evin - special thanks mate!
Consumed @ Chirs O’s pre NY tastings.
Aroma is blackcurrant, sour cherries and oak. Taste is chocolate, coffee, vanilla, leather and roasted malts. Finish is peppery and roasted with a nice measured bitterness and a dossage of good chocolate.
Fine blending indeed and one to look out for again. Pure mad on the imperial stouts and this one is classy. harrisoni (18800) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - DEC 28, 2010
Bottle at Chris NY Tasting 2010. Black colour thin tan head. Lovely choc cocoa aroma. Decent in mouth. Some tarryness. Bit of heat on finish. Rather like the flavours on this. Better than impy stout MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 27, 2010
A Sim rate (bottle thanks to Ang): Sharp, alcoholic roasty aroma. It’s espresso beans and roasty madness. Flavour is equal parts motor oil and equal parts roasty chocolate. Rich and juicy but thick and naughty. It’s a beer that leaves a real juiciness in the palate. Rich and bitter. Good, clean flavour.
