on tap at the brewpub; a Northern English style brown ale; clear brown color; a very well balanced, crisp, clean beer with chocolaty overtones LilBeerDoctor (4235) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 28, 2014
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a surprisingly dark brown with a thin light tan head. Aroma of chocolate malt, roast, light coffee notes. Flavor of sweet malt, chocolate malt, a touch of roast and a touch of roasted nuts. Fairly hearty for a brown ale, it’s sort of like a sweet porter. Nice beer, though simple.

Tap at The River Company. Pours clear dark brown with a large beige head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is cookie, toast, and light roast/chocolate malt, dates, figs, and earthy hops. Flavor is malty with medium hops and bitterness, dark fruits and a dry finish. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. BrettTaylor (784) - Radford, Virginia, USA - JUL 16, 2013
little aroma, faint malt, light head, med lacing, chocolate malt, light coffee, refreshing but tasted watered down? Carbonation seemed a bit off as well. obguthr (6831) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - MAR 31, 2013

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours very dark brown with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of nuts, toffee, chocolate and faint butterscotch as it warms. The taste is caramel malts, toffee, nuts, faint fruits and an herbal hop finish. Medium bodied.
