22oz Bottle, purchased at the Craft Beer Cellar - Belmont, MA. Soft Cascade-y nose, with a bit of malt sweetness and some alcohol. Flavors are dominated by lightly toasty malt creaminess and some distant aged hops. This reminds me of some other thick, sweet, boozy, creamy and slightly bitter Strong Lager I can’t quite put my finger on. It’s kind of Rogue-esque or Sam Adams-y...whatever the case, it’s not my favorite. It’s a mired soup of sugar and alcohol, with not the cleanest lager profile. The hops are subdued and slightly oxidized. thornecb (5907) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 6, 2013
Pours deep gold into a Sam glass. Off-white head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing to coat surface. Toasted nuts, bread and caramel aromas. Slick with sourdough and caramel upfront turning to slightly sour in the lasting bitter earth and roots finish. radarsock (1192) - Massachusetts, USA - JUN 1, 2013
Had on tap at the source for $5.00. To pint, it pours a rusty dark amber: whitish, fluffy head 1 finger in length. Aromas, weirdly enough, of kitty litter, tree bark, marshmallow root, American hops, and kilned malt. Tastes smooth, with notes of peanut brittle, grapefruit, aloe vera, candied limes, Munich, seaweed, and bitter orange peel. Underlying sugary malt backbone. Alright. In short: A very original IPA that is very hoppy yet smooth and round.Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - MAY 11, 2011
How: Tap at Extreme Beer Fest 2011, a few samples
The look: Almost clear golden body topped by a small beige head
In long: Superb nose of leafy hops that has kind of a british ESB character except that it is cranked up to 11. Taste has nice round caramel on fresh bakery bread and the ton of leafy hops with a slight citrusy edge. I didn’t know this was a lager and frankly with such a hop-dominated beer it is hard to tell. But I did note that there was something just “different” about this IPA, now I know why. I went back many times, everytime saying “Ignoble” while looking the staff in the eyes to which he always replied “looks who’s talking”.
Sample at EBF. Pours a golden body with a white head. German malts with some light caramel, earth, and citrus. Bitter with a light earth tone. Mild bread y body with a light grass to finish. Good stuff.

I’m a little confused why a beer that has lager in the name is classified as an IPA, although I guess it’s a really hoppy beer that kind of fits into no pure style guidelines. Whatever, it was pretty good, if a bit watery. j12601 (11573) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAR 24, 2011
Pouring at the Saturday sessions of EBF. Pours a hazed orange amber. Big citrus and tight hops on the nose. Long and smooth with some caramel. Super sweet at times, crackers throughout it. Creamy long bitter finish. Very tasty stuff.
