This deliciously smooth Imperial Stout is brewed with the finest English malt, three types of dark malts, and some smoked malt to give it a hint of smokiness. It has a rich, complex flavor accentuated with American Cascade hops. We aged it for three months to make it incredibly smooth and drinkable. Its also named after the former Emperor of the United States (look it up!)

Bottled opened by Dan at PP bottle shop. Black. Medium body. Mellowed, which makes it easy to drink. Not over the top in an flavor/aroma aspect, but still pretty good.

Not much of a head since it dies to only rim bubbles. Leaves good initial lace but theres none at the bottom of the glass. Near black where no light shines through. Chaulky cocoa aroma. Slightly milky. Darker malt flavor of black patent and perhaps some burnt unmalted barley. Chewy finish with some definitive hop bitterness. Good body that seems thicker with the lower carbonation.

Pours mahogany tinged black into a snifter. Mocha head with medium retention recedes leaving no lacing. Sweet dusty cocoa aromas. Full with sweet milk chocolate upfront turning slightly smoky in the lasting chocolate syrup finish.

Bottle at Chrisos Kook Tasting 09. Aroma is terrible, some ok soy sauce. US impy stout. This is poor.

Smells of old leather, mild coffee and roast barley. Deep brown with cappuccino colored head. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Smokiness comes out as the beer warms but to me it is not a positive contribution. Cheers!

Pours dark black. Very slight head, dark tan that stays for a wee bit. Creamy. Aroma definitely of chocolate. Can grab just a bit of hop aroma. Darker fruit, maybe cherries? Sweet chocolate right off the bat. Some coffee bitterness coming on at the end. Sweetish, almost like a sweet stout. Kind of thin malt for an Imp Stout. On the palate, this is silky smooth. Sadly, I think a bit of flavor may have been sacrificed to achieve this smoothness. Overall, not bad. A bit sugary and lacking that POW that imp stouts pride themselves in. Very drinkable. This would be a highly rated regular stout, but is an average imp stout. NEEDS TO BE BIGGER!

carbonation slightly prickly, nice roasty character, nose is rather weak, pours dark black, no transparency, head is 2 fingers middle of the glass pour, barely any lacing... overall a nice stout.

EBF NOTB. Not quite black in color witha tan head. A bit of a subdued aroma for an RIS- chocolate, roast are there. Taste: Roasted malt which gets a touch astringent, the body isnt quite as full as I like RISs to be- alcohol very prevalent though.
