UPDATED: DEC 8, 2008 Tried on tap at the brewbar, this was the 6.4% version....kinda disappointed that RNA had finished....nah what am i saying IPA is my favourite style! An IPA on cask wow i feel lucky! and man this was a good beer! Smells like a bag of hops...i dunno what the IBU’s are but it was satisfactorily palate pealing...i wrote ’full bodied hop attack’ in my note book in rather shaky handwriting after a few of these! ponyfizz (4) - NEW ZEALAND - MAR 13, 2011 does not count
Nice strength to this beer which, when mixed with the hoppiness gives it a good balance. Nice refreshing flavour for warm evenings with a crispness that keeps me coming back for more. davidm (2081) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - APR 25, 2010
Tap. Delicious. Aromas of grass, pine, and biscuit. Taste is bitter, and long lasting. Palate is velvety, with a medium body. Amber, with a head that doesn’t last. nutpea (17) - , NEW ZEALAND - DEC 27, 2008
Sampled at the malthouse, pours a murky yellow with no head. smells divine, citrus and passionfruit with those flavours coming through on the palate, pity it looks terrible! sx_fusion (8) - NEW ZEALAND - FEB 10, 2011 does not count
Hop and caramel malts are balanced nicely both on nose and tounge. Slightly hazy amber gold colour, which is nice. A real good one. Gotta try it!

On tap at the brewpub. We stopped in for dinner, but all the tables were full. I tasted a couple of brews and bought a T-shirt before we went somewhere else. This beer was a little piece of heaven! Luscious passionfruit and citrus aroma. Sweet toffee malt sets the stage for the main attraction: beautifully generous tropical fruit and citrus hop flavours. Nice bitter finish. A beautifully made American style IPA. Nice balance, very fresh. An IPA that I could drink all night! donfardz64 (538) - Wellington, New Zealand, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 8, 2009
Handpull at the brewpub, ’09 brew. Pours hazy amber, smooth off white head.inceptioj (54) - Dunedin, NEW ZEALAND - DEC 28, 2011
A big, fresh hop aroma, grapefruit & pepper with a bit of pineneedles.
Piny hop flavour, resiny, turning a bit peppery as it accumulates.
The resiny bitterness fills your mouth, then a long hoppy dry finish.
A beautiful hoppy, tasty IPA. Tastes kind of like an American IPA.
Beautiful amber colour. Absolutely gorgeous. Aroma and taste remind me a lot of my favorite beer Hopwired by 8 Wired however it is less tropical fruit and more citrus. Also it seems to have more hops, or at least more bitterness to the hops. skortila (5966) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - FEB 12, 2014
Bottled. New Zealand holiday 2011-12. Old notes. The aroma has mainly citric fruitiness. Clear, golden-copper coloured beer with a white head. The taste has a good, firm bitterness, is slightly veggie, has a lot citrus, some maltiness. Medium bodied. Very nice. phaleslu (10547) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 20, 2009
Part of the tasting rack at the brewpub. Pours a clear gold color with a medium white head. Has a nice hoppy aroma, with grapefruit citrus and pine. Hops, citrus, and pine are also throughout the flavor, which includes some spice and sweetness before a dry hoppy finish. Very well-balanced and an excellent IPA overall.
