good malt and yeast nose, clear brown and very thick lacing and finely textured head, good mix of sour and bitter but not strongly aromatically hoppy, very rounded taste with strong hops and yeast finish, creamy texture, medium to full body with very little carbonation (pulled from beer engine which tends to do that)
Would not have thought it was a pale ale. Good ESBish beer Jimthechap (2064) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 20, 2009
I was well impresssed by this beer, enough to forego my usualy Challenger or Golding when I came in. A big beautiful special bitter with long lasting hop flavours that make the sides of your tongue sing for a minute or two after quaffing.
Deep malt flavour in a bronze-russet coloured pint. Head lasts to almost the end. For a seasonal beer, this is a winner and I look forawrd to its next installation next year. bozoNZ (784) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 11, 2009
Pint at pub - all that you look for. Lovely fresh hop grassy resinous aroma, full luscious mouthfeel and a great body with thick toffee and fruits, zesty with body. The perfect pint. kempicus (343) - Bakewell, Derbyshire, ENGLAND - FEB 1, 2009
Flagon thanks to Ged and Kaye! Pours a beautiful golden orange with a decent head thanks to my home made sparkler! I love twisted hop beers so I’m gonna get a bit crazy on the descriptions although I promise not to mention honeybread! The smell that emanates from the glass is reminiscent of dew ridden freshly cut grass and roasting butternut pumpkin. It’s got a full bodied mouth feel that starts off with all sweet malt toffee flavours but finishes with an orangey English marmalade bitterness. More great stuff from the boys at the twisted hop! Pint pulled at the brew pub. Delicous! Slightl haze, but with a beautiful thick creamy head. Delicious fruity flavour coming through from the hops. Wish I could drink this again...
