3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Ruby body, tan head. Malty, caramel, sweet, real raspberry flavor. Low hopping. Raspberry tastes real and is not overpowering.
Bottle, 01.05.09 at the Christchurch Twisted Hop. Pours orange pink with lots of bubbles, huge pale pink head. Aroma is tart raspberries and bleu cheese. Flavor is raspberry with some bleu cheese saltiness, tangy and not sweet. kempicus (343) - Bakewell, Derbyshire, ENGLAND - SEP 5, 2008
Pours with a pinkish creamy head, lovely nose very very fruity. Good fruit flavour with a bit of tartness which is great but it lacks body on the palate which for me lets it down. Papsoe (25059) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 12, 2008
(Bottle 50 cl) Hazy, amber golden with a tint of red and a rough, of-white head. Aroma is pure raspberry. Medium body with very clean and very fruity raspberry notes - this appears to be the real mccoy. Lightly acidic with a light fusty and earthy edge. The finish is dry. A very well crafted fruit beer- 040208 Plimmer (252) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 4, 2008
Amber hazy body with red tones. Small head. Raspberry dominates the aroma. Raspberry are also a part of the taste but in a more balanced way. Sweet aftertaste but not too sweet. Jimthechap (2064) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 22, 2006
I had this beer from the bottle, it was beautifully clear, rich in natural raspberry flavour and went well with the food I had. I think that the addition of the late season raspberries rather than cordial like a number of other fruit beers is a tribute to the natural brewing techniques employed by this place.
