Tasting session after brewery tour. Deep bronze colour with a large thick white head. Lovely aroma of ovaltine and bread. Malty apple slightly bitter and refreshing. MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 5, 2009
A Mes rate. Cask handpull at Baker Street ’Sporks. leaparsons (10541) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 26, 2009
Clean gold with a big frothy white head. Far too metallic and virtually no flavour to back it up other than some faint nutty malt. Astringent finish. Absolute shocker!
Cask, Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, Oadby. Golden with an off-white head. Aromas are light grapefruit with lemon and biscuit malts. Flavours are sweet grapefruit with hints of strawberry and cherry. Fruity with a dry, grain finish. harrisoni (18573) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - MAY 10, 2009
Cask handpull at The County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Copper gold colour with lasting beige head. It’s a slightly fruity bitter. Ok hop on finish. Bit of apple/yeast on aroma. Some fruit in mouth. Ok hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 5, 2009
Cask at ’Spoons, Milton Keynes, in ’Spoons Real Ale Festival, April-May ’09. Copper with a small white head. Painty malt aroma, not the best, but the taste was good enough: grainy malt with a hint of almond and a mid bitter finish.

Cask, gravity dispensed, at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Amber coloured, poured completely flat; apple aroma; apple and biscuit flavours and a dry herbal finish. A simple session bitter. wheresthepath (2332) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - APR 29, 2009
[Gravity cask at Back of Beyond, Reading] Amber. Vague farmyard and sulphur smells, some minerals and earth in flavour. A little watery and rather bland. Ho hum. cgarvieuk (24456) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 1, 2007
a Golden amber colour, light hop nose, real fruity and hoppy flavour. nicly balanced. DonMagi (5593) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 16, 2007
Aroma is floural with lemon off the hops, some rich malts come through afterwards. Taste is similar a good sweet base balanced by the dry hoppy finish, nice little beer here. RoyceH (1199) - Hesperange, LUXEMBOURG - FEB 21, 2007
Cask, Criterion, St Andrews. Copper colour, very slightly hazy, thin off-white head. Nose is hoppy, some grass and lemon, slight sweetness. Mouth is fruity, watery, sweet. Quite fresh and light. Malt and hop bitterness, balanced, palates out to a smooth, sweet, slightly liquorice end. Too watery flavour, very good apart from that.
