Its initial sweetness is, apparently, "of roasted and vinous notes with a subtle bitter aftertaste". Strong fruitiness, often with "banana notes" standing out, is derived from Old Peculiers fermentation process.

Dark brown color with nice foam head, which seems to disappear quite quickly. This beer does not have smell, that I find quite strange. The taste is bit sweet, and aroma is bitter plus malty. Somehow I think this is quite much like a beer from ages before, and fairly likely not favored by young. Unfortunately nostalgia does not carry that far, at the end this is not really anything more than usual dark ale.

Dark brown-copper body, with a big, creamy, lacing, beige head.
Aroma of toast, caramel, dried fruits, nuts, some spices, slight coffee.
Taste follows this, with some more dark bread
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes smooth, toasty, medium roasty, bready, a bit spicy, a bit sweet.

Very nice. Smooth and very well balanced, with a great mix of roasty, toasty, bready and sweet notes. Lovely old-school style example, that is very aromatic, but also quite easy to drink.

Aroma: dark fruit with boozy smell. Appearance: very dark ruby colour with foamy head. Taste: very compacted flavours, with fruit and spice overtones.

Pours black with a medium tan head subsiding average. Scent is light Porter yeast and fairly plain. Taste is medium dense Porter yeast and some light flavors of unusual character but mostly on the undesirable scale: caramelized sugar, mold, sour. Good anyway purely due to combination of flavor.
