2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark brown color with nice foam head, which seems to disappear quite quickly. This beer does not have smell, that I find quite strange. The taste is bit sweet, and aroma is bitter plus malty. Somehow I think this is quite much like a beer from ages before, and fairly likely not favored by young. Unfortunately nostalgia does not carry that far, at the end this is not really anything more than usual dark ale.
Faint aroma. Nice dark mahogany ruby color. Fruity notes - dark fruit and banana - dominate. Fuggles bitterness too especially at end. Nice climberbob (497) - Virginia, USA - NOV 15, 2017
Bottle into glass in London hotel room. Surprisingly black w decent head. Fruity malty w slight metallic aftertaste.

Old peculiar 500ml bottle - 5.6%
Pours very dark - surprisingly. Good head and good fizz. Lovely feel in the mouth and immediate hoppy/malty taste. Very well brewed great mix of flavours for a dark ale. Not usually my thing but v impressive. 8/10

Purchased at the Liquor Shed in Casper.
This pours from 12oz bottle a dark brown with ruby hues and a large head of offwhite foam. After a couple of minutes, it shrinks to a few islands and there's some lacing.
The smell is full of caramel malt and hints that the brew is going to be very sweet.
The taste has that caramel malt flavour up front but it's mixed with a dark fruit flavour that has a touch of tartness to it so it's not as sweet as the nose insinuated. Nice. This has a bit of chocolate and it has an almost whiskey taste to it and it combines well with the sweet and the tart...gives this brew a nice balance and makes it very drinkable. The finish is a nicely balanced and the aftertaste is pretty long lasting and very good.
The mouthfeel is silky smoth and the carbonation is on the light side; that, too, makes for some excellent drinkability. It's been a lot of years since I've had this and I don't recall liking it this much. Nothing like a more educated palate. lol

Excellent dark beer with strong body, fine aromas and balanced taste. Bitter but with a equilibrated almost sweet ending

, from Alko Kaleva, Tampere, Finland. Balanced, soft, still quite intensive nuances of darker fruits, sweeter barley malts and a hint of nuts and cherry. Medium taste spectrum and medium, bit bitter aftertaste with malts and nuts. Medium/light body with medium/light carbonation. Overall, high quality, tasty product especially for the percentage.
Bottle. Dark brown with small offwhite head. Aroma malts and some roasted malts. Taste nice sweet and malty. A good beer. BierBobCat (22) - - SEP 18, 2017

Expectations: 'full bodied flavour with subtle banana, cherry and rich fruit overtones'.
Were my expectations met: Yes
Findings: its a full bodied almost 'Banoffee' beer. The mysterious dark colour has a magic about it! Its barely fizzy and this allows you to savour the flavour. I found this easy to like and will defo be drinking it again. Grumbo (3968) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - SEP 11, 2017
