UPDATED: FEB 23, 2014 Old rating, 0,75l bottle @ home:
Skuffande.

Bottle from an Italian wine shop on Mill Lane NW6. Superb presentation, nice bottle and poured a good deep amber brown colour. Seemed to be decent carbonation but no head. Caramel malty aroma. Tastes quite clean, tiniest hint of booze, sweetish malt, caramel. Competent enough and maybe good with some food but not exciting. Somewhat overpriced, don’t know whether the fault of brewery or retailer.

75cl bottle from Toscanaccio, Winchester. A cloudy, pale gold, pour with a white head; yeasty aroma; soft and sweet in the mouth, watery at first, then slightly sour grains, before some malty caramels; and a thin, dry, ending. Rather disappointing.

tmrmwel (2089) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 24, 2012
Bottle. Pours a nice red brown, with a finger thick coloured head. Aroma is nice roasted malts with notes of caramel. Full body, with medium carbonation. Sweet flavour of roasted malts, with notes of syrup, caramel, candi sugar and chocolate.

Foffern (1879) - Bodø, NORWAY - JUL 7, 2012
Bottle. Pours a clear bronze colour with a medium very frothy light beige head which fades fast. Aromas of leather, wood, nuts and some dried fruits and, pineapple, a bit sweet. Much of the same stuff in the flavour but with more fruit and plums. A hint of alcohol in the end. Soft but also some sparkly mouthfeel, and a light bitterness. An okay aroma but the taste ends weird and feels unbalanced.

Had this at a Theresien Brewpub, Innsbruck 30.05.12 Pours chestnut in colour, good clarity with a light beige white head. Soft in mouth with plenty of chewy caramel and toffee flavours, bit sweet and a bit of a one trick pony but not bad. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.1
