COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This classic auburn-red lager descends directly from the first "Vienna" produced in Trieste at the beginning of the Twentieth Century. It maintains its smooth, fresh, simple taste together with a cleverly weighted flavour of malt and hops. Because of the simplicity and balance of its aroma this light red beer is perfect with all kind of food.

Had this one on tap at Delirium Caf Gbg just after the Th. strong Ale. Therefore it felt a bit bland; neutral malt flavor and no hops. Descent but nothing more.

Unscheinbares, sehr rotes, Piwo mit einem ordentlich Schuss Malz, ein paar Nssen und Blttern. An sich keine schlechte Sache, aber leider vollkommen an meinem Geschmack vorbei.

33cl bottle from Toscanaccio, Winchester. Copper in colour with a billowing cream head and heavy carbonation; malty aroma with some spicy yeast; vrey soft in the mouth, with a sweet malty flavour; and a dry, biscuity finish with some gentl bitterness. Pleasant, but nothing more.

330 ml bottle. Dark golden body with a nice off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel and some citric fruity hops. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, toast and citric fruit with moderate bitterness. Pretty straight forward all the way. Not very exiting, the best part is the aroma.

330ml bottle. Pours with a nice tidy dense head of beige foam that leaves some lacing on the glass. Colour is deep amber and malt and barley aromas dominate in the nose. Full flavoured with a strong malt falvour profile.

Bottle. Big yellowish airy head. Clear amber to red colour. Aroma caramel and roasted malt. Taste is a bit weird. almost medium sweet, light bitter, light sour. Caramel and washing cloth. Finish is light bitter, light sour, again washing cloth. Promising aroma with disappointing beer hidden underneath. Definitely not worth the 79 style rating, slightly below average vienna for me.

ClubGonzo (5663) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 20, 2011
Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkendorfsgate, Bergen. Clear bronze body, medium foamy head. Smells of dark malts and that now-familiar sour-ish aroma (yeast, Im guessing) so typical of the Vienna lager style. Taste is dark malts and some harsh, semi-metallic tones which doesnt exactly cater to my palate. Hints of toffee. Not a very good Vienna.
