COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This classic auburn-red lager descends directly from the first "Vienna" produced in Trieste at the beginning of the Twentieth Century. It maintains its smooth, fresh, simple taste together with a cleverly weighted flavour of malt and hops. Because of the simplicity and balance of its aroma this light red beer is perfect with all kind of food.

Some bitterness in the aroma. Some sour fruityness (rowan berries?) and a malty finish. Fresh and fruity in the aftertaste.

Compact foam and much supporter. Dark orange color, branch. A lot shining and bubbly. Scent bitter and decided with one light sour note. Dry and strong taste. Much bitter and of good persistence.

Bottled. Delirium Caf, Gteborg. Dark copper colour. Good malty aroma with notes of butter. Diacetyl is most evident in flavour with a fair touch of maltiness. Body is medium.

Quite drinkable and well made, malty and sweet but dry in the finish, soft mouthfeel and nice earthy malt low notes lingering in the finish. Aroma is sharp and worty, toasty and lifted by a touch of floral hops. Only slight dodginess is the weird black banana (chess set) flavour in the aftertaste. Nice head that settles in little icefloes, Czech style. In fact reminds me of Czech polotmaves.

Pours dark amber with a large, fading head. Nose shows lots of caramel and melanoidins. Pretty good stuff. Very similar flavours but a cooked vegetable character creeps in which detracts from the sweet malt. Nice light body and moderate carbonation.

0.33 L bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Coarse white head with fish-eyes. Body is brilliant, light orangey-brown. Aroma of light bready and caramelly malts, with a light sourish smell. Well prononced earthy and grassy hops, as well. Sourish-sweet, toasted malt flavor. Caramel and bread tones, and a suitable grassy bitterness. Mid-bodied. Sourish-sweet peppery caramel ending. A pretty good Vienna.

Another one of heavys. Tiny white head, lovely full amber body. Woody sweet caramelly malty nose. The nice, sweet woody maltiness dominates the taste, quite earthy. Gets a bit dry and bitter at times. More complex than it seems at first. Good job.
