Had this ruby-hearted black draft on nitrogen at the pub. Yes, well-done to Dublin tastes, as it boasts a chocolate and coffee aroma, medium-lean smooth body with tangy acidity mid-palate, and a long roast note in the finish. This was my second place choice (of four) in blind tasting for best stout in Sonoma County...at the time. Would be happy to say it tied for first, if ties had been allowed. (Would like to taste this side-by-side with OVL, but for now I’ll say this one is best.)

Black with a moderate tan swirl and edgework.
Nose is roast malt, toffee, light charring effect, cardboard, hint of coffee.
Taste comrises light cocoa, toffee, roast malt.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying finale.

On tap at SF Beer Week Opening Gala. Pour is dark brown with a small foamy head. Aroma and flavor are both mild with notes of coffee grounds, bitter chocolate, and light sweetness.
