COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India pale Ale, or IPA, was developed to quench the thirsts of British settlers in the East and West Indies. The Bodega Head IPA recreates the stylistic ideas of the 1800s. High alcohol and aggressive hop charecteristics are matched with a dry malt background and finish.

Orange=gold with a decent white head. Aroma is malty with some earthy hops. Flavor is a bit malty and fruity with somewhat low bitterness for the style. A malty IPA is somewhat unique these days. Full bodied with moderate carbonation. Aroma and flavor is dull, muddled. The talented brewers there seem to be held back by old standard recipes.

From tap at the brewery. Clear yellow golden color with off white head. Malty and hoppy aroma, grass, pine, citrusy fruity. Light sweet and moderate bitter taste. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

This was a shared tasting with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. The pour of this 22 oz bottle was orange Big creamy white head with yellow tinges. Nose of floral hops, some pine and a touch of fruit. Medium in body and smooth lightly carbonated mouth feel. The flavor is dominated by the floral hops, but the light fruit, pine, and the finish is bitter orange zest .While a bit mild it very easy drinking. I am used to those big NW IPAs with a ton of flavor so this seems milts, but again is it very easy going down.

Bomber from Hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. A little haze in this generally golden beer. A big beige foam leaves just a little lace. I smell as much malts as I do hops. The flavor, however, brings out plenty of bittering hops. Late some fruit is tasted and there are floral notes. As the temperature of the beer climbs more fruit is tasted and it is citrus. But this is not really a flavorful hop profile. Crackery malts. This is kind of an old style IPA. More alpha that flavor. This is definitely a throwback IPA from before big flavorful hops like Citra, etc. This might have been a lot like the best IPA circa 1980.
