On draft at pub, chocolate aroma with American citrus/pine note. Chocolate and touch of dark fruit with piney (Columbus?) hop flavor, but very low, to no roast in flavor. Oatmeal duly noted in mouthfeel, what kmweaver dubs ’nougat’.
This was my third place choice (of four) in blind tasting for best stout in Sonoma County.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is cocoa and cracker malt. Medium body, cracker, chocolate, dry roast finish, decent.

On tap at the Brewpub. Black with a small tan head. Roasted with coffee, some dried fruit and chocolate. Fairly sweet.

Draft to taster at the brewpub. Looks good; a translucent dark cola with foamy beige head that slowly but steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of dark malt, coffee roast, and dark chocolate (in that order). Tastes like it smells with a fairly bitter presence from the roast. Some pinwy hops on the tongue as well. A nice oatmeal stout overall. Pours a beautiful deep red black color. Smells of oatmeal and vanilla. Taste is very milky and smooth, with some vanilla and coffee. Not the most complex however. Draft at brewery. Nose is string chocolate and a moderate roast character. Some bitter chocolate. Stains shirts. Otherwise ok.
