Chocolate and coffee in the aroma mixed in with some citrus hops. They have the right idea but can’t execute. Its decent bu feels like a watered down version of a better Black IPA. Too much coffee to be a black ipa also. If you call your beer an IPA it better shine in the hops category.
Dark brown ale with a finger’s worth of lasting foam. Mild aromas of toasted to roasted malt, citric to floral hops and some dark chocolate. Soft and smooth palate. Light sweetness is quickly whisk away with bitter hops and acidic malts. Some toasted wood, akin to a bourbon barrel. Keeps getting more acidic the further I get down in the glass. A hoppy Schwartz/porter. 5/12

Black IPA in terms of bitterness, but not so much in terms of hop flavor/aroma. Body is ok as is appearance; Finish is long and roasty. andrewje41 (3763) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - JUL 24, 2015
12 oz bottle poured. Pours a thick looking black with a tan cream foam head. Nice toasty malt aroma and flavor. Nice hop character throughout. Roasted caramel finish that lingers. Overall a tasty beer.

Bottle - near jet black with a small head. Light roasted malt aroma and a grainy taste. The body is medium and the finish is very smooth but somewhat watery. Not bad. VeinAle (134) - Minnesota, USA - FEB 13, 2015
Odors of cocoa, musk, earthen char emanate from this onyx pour and beige crown. This is actually quite good, the best I’ve seen from third street. Bitter char, excellent sweet follow up. Overall, satisfied to have found a good one. edgallow (4154) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 19, 2015
