Confidence in the glass reveals a pale yellow slightly disturbed that covers a white foam and airy. This admission escape the smell of lemon fruit and cereal. We then discovered a powerful entry in the mouth, which has a malty bitterness tickle the tongue. Flavors of malt and hops come together while the purple is slowly feeling, which is not surprising, because the violet tea into its composition. Aroma which is not invasive, but provides a slight coolness to this strong beer. The finish is relatively smooth with flavors of violets that persist after the end of the glass.

TAR (2802) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - MAY 22, 2016
Bottle purchased at Thiriez in August 2014 and consumed the same week: Burnished gold. Brooding creamy white head. Extraordinarily polished aroma of pecan, perfumey Alsatian hops, black tea, lemon, dusty yeast, pepper, licorice, and minerals. Fluffy and lush carbonation. Strikingly bouncy and leathery pecan-skin malt cradles a bracing dose of minerals as it dovetails with supple fruity esters. Luscious saliva-inducing malt boasts fat melanoidins which treat the mouth to a sublime sensory experience. Intricate subtleties exude from the pils malt as well, including fresh hay notes which distribute a wealth of dusty textures across the palate, a telltale sign of masterful mashing. Dusty and candyish yeast imparts staggering depth as well as plenty of rusticity, as brilliantly measured phenols step in to sharpen the immaculate cleanness. Elegantly incorporated hazelnut, fallen leaves and earthy chocolate notes reveal an understated malt complexity and autumnal element that enhances the rusticity. Sizzling lemony hop acids flourish in the sophisticatedly hopcentric finish alongside licorice and pepper notes. Oh, the fruitlessness of assigning mere descriptors to a soulful, inspired work of art. This is one of very few beers that’s ever evoked the purity I’ve found in Gänstaller Bräu’s lagers, and I’ll leave it at that.

Bottle from Brune Rousse Houblon, Nice. Golden-blonde with a medium carbonation and thick head. Has lots of yeasts and breaded pale malts, with a good aroma in this respect too.

Impression: earth, spice, oyster shell, seed bread, herbal noble hops, dusty basement must and cobwebs.

Airy phenolic head. Highly caramelized. Luscious mouth feel. Rich without weight. Effervescent, salty, suggestively smoky in the way of Gänstaller Steinbier. Full bodied, off-dry, woody, tart, tropical / juicy, filling. Thiriez house strain and rich malt caramelization.

Bottle sample at a tasting at our place. Thanks Tom L. 7%. Hazy-murky blond. Some pepper, floral and rose water in the nose, bitter yeasty taste with a little bit sourness. Medium body, slightly sour finish and very carbonated.

Idiosynkrasie (8330) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAY 26, 2014
330ml bottle [gusher]. Hazy golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity aroma has notes of peach and apricot, some citrus notes, minimally bready, malty basis. Taste is bitter, spicy yeasty, vaguely fruity without flattering sweetness, herbal and yeasty finish. Nicely balanced, not too sweet, good carbo, good mouthfeel.

Bottle 330ml (Saveur)
Hazy yellow color, good white head ... the bottle was gushing a bit. Dry Belgian yeasty aroma with some lime and spices. A bit like witbier. Medium-bodied. Lychee, citrus, hops, apple in the flavor. Foamy mouthfeel. Some bitterness and alcohol. Without so active carbonation this one could be quite nice one.
