330 ml bottle at the beer bistro. Pours a cloudy orange colour with good-sized off-white head. Aroma is herbal and floral hops, tart fruit, spice and grains. Flavour is big on herbal and floral hops and yeastiness with tart apple, some solid spiciness and some graininess. Drying finish. Nice, interesting beer.

Brasserie Thiriez - Etoile du Nord 5.5% bottle at Cave a Bulle. I heard this is a historically significant beer in France as it was the first truly hoppy beer and is a saison at that. A golden brass color with a huge thick fluffy head. Yeasty hay, flour, spices & mild hoppiness in the nose. The taste is bready, saison spices and herbal hops.

From a bottle: cloudy with a chocolate-colored yeast that sits atop wonderful, silky foam. A doughy and slightly bitter, but pleasant, aroma. Lightly sweet to begin with followed by medium bitterness and ending in some astringency.
