Black in colour. No light penetrates this one. Cloudy, with a beige head. Aroma of apple, (roasted) malts, herbal, slight coffee. Touches of Brett? Flavour has the same notes. Apple on the foreground, bit sour apples. Might it be that a slight Brett infection is present in this bottle? Still an enjoyable beer though.

Test vom 29.1.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,12,11,14,7,12 - 11,80

20110602 Oirschot Beerfest (33 cl bottle): A cloudy (also some particles) dark red-brown beer with a brown head. The aroma is comparable with a Flemish Brown Beer. The taste is roasted malt, sour (oxidation?, look like also some acetic acid, hard sour). Als the tast is like a Flemish Brown. Later the beer is also sticky. This is not a porte. BBE 08/2010.

JanLaursen (3227) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 26, 2011
Black with red-brown edge. Off-white large, stable foamy head. Aroma: Malt, a little sweetness, with hints of raisins and spices (cinnamon, licorice, cardamom). Taste is relative thin. Watery texture with fizzy carbonation. There is something almost medicinal in the flavor. Dry finish. Interestering, but lacks concentration..

Rosebud butternuts (2396) - Denton, Texas, USA - APR 18, 2011
bottle thanks to bu11zeye. poured brownish ruby with a beige head. aroma was chocolate, dark roast, and fruity. flavor was much the same with a light body and high carbonation.

Maria (10211) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAR 6, 2011
The beer floods out of the bottle upon opening. The color is black with a red hue and the head is huge and lively. The aroma has a light sourness, notes of roasted malt and spicy yeast. The mouth-feel is fizzy in an annoying way. The flavour has notes of roasted malt, a light sourness, spicy yeast, light licorice, and the finish is dry.

Bottle at the GBBF Babblebelt meet up at the White Horse on 4 August 2006. Very dark red colour. Herbal, flowery aroma - distinct violets. Herbal on the palate too. Also medicinal with some licorice notes. Interesting but I didn’t find it that enjoyable.

joergen (28412) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 26, 2011
Bottle at Bishops Arms, Gustav. Clear red brown colooured with a medium sized beige head. Fruity aroma of berries and caramel with roasted notes. Fruity flavour of berries and caramel with roasted noes.

brekeriet (139) - SWEDEN - FEB 11, 2011
Bottle 330ml. Aroma: Bretty, leather, barnyard, fruity, toasted, roasted, smoke. Dark brown color. Taste: A bit sour, nice bitterness. Thin body. Overall a very nice flavorful beer.

Skinnyviking (9588) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 5, 2011
Bottle. High fluffy off-white long lasting head. Very dark, almost black, red brown body. Unexpected heavy aroma of cinnamon, apart from that cocoa raisin and I guess orange peel. Very sweet and sugary cinnamon dominated flavor with little hops bitterness and a caramel plum raisin flavor. Low carbonation, long sweet afteratee. No my idea of a porter. Maybe that is the choice of the rater.
