Beer from Berrs of Europe. Pianka srednia bezowa i srednio trwala, sporo karmelu i lukrecji, kukulki, ogolnie przypominalo bardziej slodszego portera baltyckiego niz klasycznego londynskiego Portera, ale nie bylo az tak zle Eructoblaster (4370) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - APR 18, 2009

Pours a clear dark brown with a large off-white dimminishing head. Smells of banana and alcohol. Sweet and slightly bitter. Aromas of molasses and spices. Pepper and allspice. Soft carbonation. Tastes more like a Biere de Garde than a Belgian Ale. bartlebier (4123) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - SEP 30, 2015
UPDATED: OCT 10, 2015 33cl bb12/2015, TDrinks Tilburg clearance. Nice opaque noir foincé pour with beige, organic crema. Smells like a pumpernickel/Schwarzbrot inflected Schwarzbier more than a porter: earthy nuts, char, black pepper, burnt breadcrust, some vanilla, bayleaf and berries. About the same in taste on just the right creamy-sessionable body, satisfying coffee-sour, woody roast with a hint of chocolate, hedgerow berry hops. Could as well be a an Alsatian "Schworz" (cf. Matten), as a more exotic "French-Flemish porter/des Flandres". probstblueribbon (4088) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 23, 2008
33 cl bottle from Bieropholie, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. JN18/08.[br/][br/]
App.: Very deep black with hints of brown, moderate tan head.
Aroma: A bit of molasses and brown sugar, lots of ginger, black licorice, some clove and other warm spices, a bit of black coffee, slightly minty, tangy truly an odd and eclectic aroma
Palate: Medium+ body, soft effervescence, slightly slick and astringent.
Flav.: Tangy acidity, plenty of ginger, vinous, some molasses and licorice, a touch of leafy hops quite tart and slightly bitter, with a touch of coffee that lingers with the tartness.[br/][br/]
A bizarre brew with very unexpected flavours and aromas. Unique, but not for me. hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 9, 2007
