750 ml bottle. Clear orange in color with a nice huge fluffy white head and lots of floaties. Fruity and hoppy aroma. Light Citrus note. Nice hop flavor. Medium body and decent. Nice beer. JonMoore (2067) - Loughborough, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 5, 2006
Bottle. Hazy orange, thick white head, and lots of fine floating sediment. Aroma is sweet, fruity, yeasty and spicey. The flavour is lightly malty and fruity, yeasty with some light hops in the finish. Medium bodied, highly carbonated foamy, but nice mouthfeel. A very good, easy drinking Bière de Garde.

Gusher. Amber with I head that takes up most of the glass. Aroma is caramel, doughy, and a light sourness. Taste is caramel, light pale maltiness showing, a hint of smoke, light hoppiness. Besides the over carbonation, it was terrific. miquelcrush (2053) - Granollers, SPAIN - AUG 14, 2015

Light amber in colour with a beige huge head. Lovely fruity caramel aroma with some musty notes. Toasted caramel, subdued fruits with a nice nutty finish. Medium bodied, tasty.

330ml bottle from Beer Hawk - Hazy golden-orange body with a moderate white head. Aroma is quite herbal and grassy. Flavour is herbal as well, with yeast and grain notes, caramel, subdued fruits and a nice nutty finish. Quite a good one. Slick (1969) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - DEC 30, 2006
Hazy amber color, good sized white head that had a long hang time then faded slowly to leave a decent lace behind. The aroma was hoppy with a decent malty side and a bit of band-aid or somethng that is kind of funky. The flavor was another surprise.Nice malty taste with a good hop showing some citrus and caramel and a nice smooth feel all around.Pretty decent brew and well worth trying again but there fairly pricey at $12/bot UXO (1896) - CANADA - OCT 8, 2015
Appearance: clear medium amber with one finger of fluffy ivory head, good retention and patchy lacing. (4/5) Aroma: somewhat muted, caramel/toffee malt, dark fruit, spices, light earthy funk. (6/10) Taste: moderately strong sweet, mild bitter, light tart. (6/10) Medium body tending a little to the watery, lively carbonation, off-dry finish. (4/5)
Not bad, but not as well done as their Étoile du Nord. (Though, to be fair, I enjoy saisons much more than ambers, so personal preference is probably a factor there.) The lighter, somewhat watery body and lively carbonation are a bit at odds with the darker malt sweetness and winter spices. They call this a "Bière de Garde," but the labels of “Winter Warmer,” Christmas Beer,” or just plain “Amber” would probably all work just as well. Bottle. Pours a hugh head that stays, very cloudy amber appearance. Smell is crisp with a fruity essence. Taste is full flavored with a slight carbonation feel and smooth aftertaste. Refreshing during the summer and goes down smooth. Good farmhous ale. Cheers! VDuquerroux (1821) - Airvault, Haut-Poitou, FRANCE - OCT 11, 2015
