This bottled brew poured a very large sized head of foamy finely sized mostly lasting off-white colored bubbles that left behind a carbonated hazy amber brown colored body with yeast floaties and a good lacing. The aroma was mildly doughy with a malty base. The mouth feel was tingly from start to finish with a mild malty doughy vinous aftertaste. The flavor was malty doughy smooth and tingly on the tongue.

Slightly hazy orange-ochre beer under small yellowish head. Watercress aroma, fresh, caramel and sweet malts. Slightly sourish, toasted and malty taste, a bit like sourdough bread, toasted, and maltcookies. Quite sweet main taste, if a bit dull, with always the sourish lining. Light to medium bodied, a bit like fruitjuice-without-pulp like MF. Not bad, just a decent session ale.

schuimkroaat (427) - Leuven, BELGIUM - JUL 7, 2008
33 cl bottle. Coppery colour, slightly cloudy, modest white head of a fine, delicate structure. Malty nose with sourish, almost pungent herbal and fruity notes; quince, raisins. Honey-ish and sourish taste with a mild hoppy finish. Velvety palate.

KyotoLefty (10375) - Kyoto, JAPAN - DEC 7, 2008
From a bottle in Paris, November 2006. Medium to dark amber color. Pretty decent head. Very cloudy with sediment. Aroma of yeast and amber malts. Slightly fruity flavor, lots of yeast. Malt is really thin, as is the body. A bitterish flavor that might be hops but is really different. A touch sour. There is also a bit of that earthy taste that often comes in biere de garde, but not so prevalent here. There is a definite graininess, although a very simple and rustic one. OK, but the malt is not really there. Lacking a bit of punch. Somewhat bland. Highly carbonated. Earthy, malty, slightly caramel beer, but not really impressive.

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2009 The aroma isn’t anything special but it does have butterscotch, yeast, sour fruit, brown sugar, and spices. The appearance is amber with lot of floating particles and a large head. The flavor is complex and like the aroma. The palate is soft. Overall a likable beer.

Bottle at Where the Wild Beers Are. Full orange pour with minimal eggshell head. Aroma of hay and malt. Extremely sweet of butterscotch and white sugar backed by funk. Cloying.

chriso (7569) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 11, 2012
Sample at the brewery in April 2008 (on tap I think). Amber with a slight haze. Lightly fruity aroma with a hint of toffee. Clean on the palate with some slightly bready malts. Slightly acidic edge on the finish. Touch of residual sweetness. Easy drinking. Fine but nothing particularly out of the ordinary.

Lilja (3280) - Malmö, SWEDEN - APR 12, 2013
Smak och doft av körsbär, plommon, trä, alldeles för söt med en lite fadd eftersmak. Lagom beska.
