The first Christmas beer produced by Thiriez since 1997. Fewer hops than the Blonde; lightly toasted malts for color, and a hint of spice.

Bottle. Red unfiltered. Malty red fruity, some spices (cardemon). Lightish body. Spicy, some hay maltyness. Some chocolate. Quite enjoyable. Lighter xmas beer.

Bottle 33cl. Sligthly hazy dark amber, one finger foamy off-white head, recedes very quickly, thin layer remains; shy aroma toasted malt, caramel, bread, herbal notes, gives slightly watery impression; moderate sweet, slightly bitter, dark fruits, spicy notes (cloves, nutmeg); medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation; smooth moderate sweetbitter aftertaste.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Tom L. Cloudy amber with white wave. Sweet, a little date and spices like cardamom in the nose, quite flat bitterness with some hyssop in the mouth. Full body, dry, spicy finish.

Small egg-white head. Very hazy, iced-tea colored. No nose. Malty, dry. Light sweet aftertaste.

Not really a "Taste".... no hops, just water with lager syrup... I was dissapointed about this "fade" beer...

Bottle (330 ml). Sligthly hazy amber with a medium quickly disappearing beige head. Aroma is of molasses, caramel, cloves, toasted malts and dried fruits. Taste is also intensely molasses forward with more fruits than in the aroma, spices, toasted malt and a light warming finish. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Thick sirupy mouthfeel which is very nice for that kind of beer. It’s a kind of Christmas beer that I really like (I usually don’t like Christmas beer very much). Tasty, but also drinkable for the style. The mouthfeel is very interesting and the balance isn’t bad at all.

Bottle at Volo, shared, but not so drinkable Xmas biere de garde. Faded spices. Rather bland. Reminds me of too many xmas beers we did not like.

zvikar (6349) - Ramat Gan, ISRAEL - APR 26, 2014
Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Tom L. Pours rusty orange with an off white head, aroma of cardboard, vegetables, sweetness, flavor of apples, cinnamon, alcohol, spices, unpleasant, medium bodied.

Strykzone (7586) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - APR 24, 2014
Sampled at esbls. Cloudy, even opaque amberish. A gusher but the foam faded quickly. Apricots in the nose. Taste is fruit, yeadt, earth, funk. Pleasant drinking stuff.
