The first Christmas beer produced by Thiriez since 1997. Fewer hops than the Blonde; lightly toasted malts for color, and a hint of spice.

DocLock (10689) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 7, 2006
Bottle from Degarth. Thanks! Hazy deep coppery pour with 2-finger off-white head. Aroma of hopcitrus, caramel malt, brown sugar, some fruit. The taste is caramel malty up front, with emerging brown sugar, hopcitrus, some apricotty notes, and some funk. Another complex beer that was a great part of my Independence weekend beer-a-thon!

pivnizub (10619) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - DEC 21, 2008
Bottle. Hazy, orangey coloured, small and stable foamy layer. Sourish-grainy nose with a touch of cloves. Moderate sweetish-sourish, light to medium bodied. Sourish-fruity finish. Not great........

allmyvinyl (10613) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 13, 2015
330ml bottle from Beers of Europe, shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear red-amber, short-lived white head. Aromas of cherry, sandalwood, spice. Taste is spicy, light fruit. Light body, thin spicy finish.

DuffMan (10434) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 24, 2013
Bottle, opened to share with my in-laws. Aggressively carbonated gassy head atop a golden amber body. Musty caramel aroma, not a good start. Musty caramel apple flavour. This bottle is off. Boo.

33 cl bottle via brekeriet (thanks to Nisse666!), sampled on March 10, 2012
BB 09/2012, Lot 266
Cloudy brown color, small yellow head. Spicy, grainy, fruity scent. Sweet, spicy, fruity, bready taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium low bitterness.

KyotoLefty (10264) - Kyoto, JAPAN - DEC 7, 2008
From a bottle in Paris, November 2006. Medium to dark amber color. Pretty decent head. Very cloudy with sediment. Aroma of yeast and amber malts. Slightly fruity flavor, lots of yeast. Malt is really thin, as is the body. A bitterish flavor that might be hops but is really different. A touch sour. There is also a bit of that earthy taste that often comes in biere de garde, but not so prevalent here. There is a definite graininess, although a very simple and rustic one. OK, but the malt is not really there. Lacking a bit of punch. Somewhat bland. Highly carbonated. Earthy, malty, slightly caramel beer, but not really impressive.

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2015 Bouteille 33cl, lot#503, BB 12/2016.

JorisPPattyn (10002) - Ursel, BELGIUM - MAR 24, 2008
Slightly hazy orange-ochre beer under small yellowish head. Watercress aroma, fresh, caramel and sweet malts. Slightly sourish, toasted and malty taste, a bit like sourdough bread, toasted, and maltcookies. Quite sweet main taste, if a bit dull, with always the sourish lining. Light to medium bodied, a bit like fruitjuice-without-pulp like MF. Not bad, just a decent session ale.

GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 8, 2012
750mL thanks to Travlr.Slow gusher. Large creamy, beige head atop deep reddish ruby, rust. Good lacing. Mega malty nose with brown sugar, black cherry, some celery, dill, wet hay. Taste is bitter, minerally, black cherry soda, rustic malt. A bit bland. Effervescent rather than thick and malty. No oatmeal richness wanted in style. Not too bad. In a way it tastes like diet black cherry soda mixed with malta non alcoholic beverage.
