A great Irish Dry stout in the Guinness tradition. Roasted malt nose, a bit sweet in the middle, but a good dry bitter finish. Smooth and rich, a must try for stout lovers. Ranks high on my stout master list. sir__v (2629) - FRANCE - NOV 23, 2015
On tap @ Thristy Bear Brewery, San Francisco - CA. Color: deer dark black beer with no carbonation and small brown head. Smell: sweet roasted malt. Black bread and caramel notes. Taste: medium body, easy drinkable with roasted malt and caramel balance. Not so hoppy finish. Very sweet nice beer. Aftertaste: caramel, licorice and sweet roasted malt. Small coffee finish. Maybe too sweet for a stout. joet (2606) - Wilsonville, Oregon, USA - OCT 24, 2001

Malty chocolate coffee smell, with a rich black color and light brown head to the bear and thick lacing. Taste is similar to the smell, with a hint of caramel. Some bitterness, but very drinkable, creamy and a bit dry in the finish, but not too much so. rarbring (2294) - Linköping, SWEDEN - MAR 28, 2014

A great stout. Easily the best we've had from Thirsty Bear. Pours a beautiful thick black with a tan head. Smells like nutty vanilla. Taste is nutty, creamy and extremely thick. Had a slightly bitter finish. Paired with Point Reyes blue cheese, it smooths out the bitterness and brings out the sweetness and nuttiness. Makes it tastes like a ice cream stout. Great. Had on tap at the brewery.
