Nice Stout. Probably the nicest thing in the lineup at this brewpub. Great head and good nose. Very nice flavor and color. flutetokill (523) - Fresno, California, USA - DEC 27, 2003
Very dark brownish black with a hint of red at the edges. Creamy nitro head. Strong roasty aroma. Strong roasted malt, coffee grounds and light hops flavors. Extremely thin feel. Fairly wet finish. Nice flavor, but just too thin. Gorbalev (3000) - Ontario, CANADA - NOV 29, 2005
On tap, brewpub. Pitch black, medium nitro tan head. Strong roasted barley aroma - sweet as well. Medium watery mouthfeel. Very sweet taste, I thought this was easily a sweet stout all the way. Lots of roast as well. Apart from the watery aspect, this stout seemed somehow unique and pretty good. beastiefan2k (4191) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - MAR 24, 2006
Draught at the brewpub. Imagine a Guiness with an aroma, abit of chocolate and a better flavor, a little bitter. AgentSteve (1647) - SF Bay Area, California, USA - FEB 27, 2009
Dark brown pour with nose and flavor of tobacco, chocolate and roasted malts. Dry finish.

Sampler at the brewpub. Black but not entirely opaque. Creamy off-white head. Roasted aroma. Clean malty profile with nice roasted malts. Very nice roasted malts. Quite flavourful. Nice dry stout. lusikka (7833) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 14, 2012
Draught @ Thirsty Bear Brewing Company, San Francisco. Rated on 13.10.2012.sir__v (2630) - FRANCE - NOV 23, 2015
Pours a black colour with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, tobacco and strong ash notes. Flavour is pretty similar; roasted malts, really strong tobacco notes, grassy hops and dark chocolate. Medium bodied, dry mouthfeel and a bitter finish where tobacco comes through even more than before. Good.
On tap @ Thristy Bear Brewery, San Francisco - CA. Color: deer dark black beer with no carbonation and small brown head. Smell: sweet roasted malt. Black bread and caramel notes. Taste: medium body, easy drinkable with roasted malt and caramel balance. Not so hoppy finish. Very sweet nice beer. Aftertaste: caramel, licorice and sweet roasted malt. Small coffee finish. Maybe too sweet for a stout. j12601 (13304) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JAN 23, 2016
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear cola brown with a thin tan head. Soft roast, a bit of cocoa, chocolate. Medium-bodied, but thins out a touch due to the nitro. Soft roast into the finish, char and dark malt. Roasty bitterness. DSG (15432) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - FEB 22, 2017
