Bottle. Caramelized malt aroma. Yellow-amber color with small head. Caramelized malt flavor with a light hops finish. Nice drinkable beer. emerica56 (600) - Bristol, Rhode Island, USA - DEC 9, 2007
This beer has a clear amber color and a mild hoppy and carmel malt aroma.
But there is some thick laceing along the sides of the glass. It has a nice initial bitterness and some sweet malt. But there is no palate duration at all. It fades rather quickly. LinusStick (3473) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 12, 2007
A wierd Vienna. Aroma was very weak. Could pick up some light malt but not without some serious sniffin’. Pour was incredibly light for a vienna. Light orange but with a beautiful 2 finger white head and...what is that....sediment?! In a Vienna? I’ll take it! Taste was not very Vienna-like. PIneapple, light fruit and sweet malt. A tad of a bitter aftertaste that goes away quick. Vienna? Not really IMO but pretty good. Dorwart (2596) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - NOV 10, 2007
Thin head of medium sized bubbles which does not last long. Large amount of large chunky floaters in there. Almost look like coffee grounds. Sweet and fruity aroma with some pineapple, light malts and roasted grains. Color is a medium dark orange. Flavor is thin and sort of dry. Light malt presence with some more pineapple and a bit of spice. Finishes pretty clean and rather boring. An ok brew.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2008 Smell is a little sweet. A bit darker than a pale yellow beer. More orangy. Has a surprizingly unexpected haze within. Not clear by any standards. Good non bitter initial flavors. Comes on like a sweeter helles but that morphs into something with an ever so slight bitter bite as the session continues. It says the IBU is 9 and I’m glad. This is a lager with personality. However it is not too offensive. Mild bitterness continues to build. Leaves a slight tart of sour linger for a while after each sip. Not as friendly or well mannered as I like for a lager, but it is enjoyable in its own way.

Misdirection. Is this a ’golden lager’ or a Vienna/Marzen? If the brewer doesnt’ know what kind of beer he’s brewing why should I care? It’s a tasty beer, caramel and some fruit (though not every fruit in God’s earth as the reviewers here would have you believe. I mean come on, mulberries?) give this lager some complexity but it’s not quite as ’heroic’ as this dog on the label must have been obguthr (6432) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - OCT 13, 2007
Subtle honey and grain on the nose. Amber color, medium white head. Moderately strong tinny taste of mulberry and yeast. Grass finish. There’s a slightly soapy presence throughout. scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - OCT 2, 2007
Dark hazy orange, thin off white head. Nose held notes of grainy caramel and hints of grassy earthed hops and apple skin. Slight sour flavors balance over light grassy flroals and peppery hops notes. Just a touch of breadiness and toasted sweet malt rounds this out. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation, dry, bittersweet finish. Not great, not bad.. Thanks for the bottle Aaron. ryan (3186) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - SEP 22, 2007
