Huge bourbon aroma, taste is dark malts and chocolate balanced wonderfully with the bourbon, so good! kathouse (1888) - LAS VEGAS, Nevada, USA - MAR 23, 2015
Milk chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon aromas are so appealing. Beer is black with a light brown head. Thick and full mouthfeel is deep with oak, bourbon, vanilla, and a rich chocolate flavor that blends really well. The alcohol is noticeable but doesn’t overpower. Pours black with tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, coffee. Taste is vanilla, cream, and bourbon up front, followed by coffee, burnt malt and bitter dark chocolate. Really quite a change from sweet to burnt/bitter all in the course of one sip. Creamy mouthfeel. Good stuff. LearninBeer (593) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - JAN 8, 2017
The aroma is malts, chocolate, coffee, vanilla and a little caramel. Pours black with an amber hue, tan head mostly lasting and excellent lacing. The taste is sweet, then a little bitter. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively, the finish long. Very Good!! sinfull (1652) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - MAR 8, 2017
Black color . Nice , beige head. Bourbon , chocolate, vanilla and dark fruits in aroma. Moderate sweetness in taste. Bourbon, warming finish.

Draught. Phenomenal impy stout. My notes are almost non-existant. Let me sum it up this way: it was so good I didn’t even notice I drank the entire glass in under 5 minutes! Oops but oh so tasty. foundmd (210) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 17, 2011
On tap at Fries Cafe, courtesy of Alan. Pitch black with a faint head. Boozy bourbon aroma with underlying notes of vanilla and roast. Bourbon is more subtle in the taste. Alcohol warmth gives way to notes of sweet and roasted malt, vanilla, dark fruit, and chocolate. Medium bodied and smooth on the palate. Not quite as good as the base beer but tasty nonetheless. UPDATED: FEB 22, 2014 Hints of vanilla and strong on the bourbon which I don’t mind. Very pricey but I would buy again. weissblau (19) - - JAN 14, 2013
Very black with brownish tight bubbles. Aroma is actually not as rich as the flavor (perhaps it’s too cold). Tastes of vanilla, charred oak, alcohol. bluejacket74 (1992) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - FEB 15, 2013
64 ounce growler filled earlier today from the new growler station at Blacklick Wine and Spirits. Served in a snifter, the brew pours dark brown/black with about a half inch tan head that sticked around for a little bit. There’s also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, it smells like bourbon, vanilla, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, and oak/wood. The taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also the addition of some burnt/charred malt, dark fruit and a bit of anise. Great balance between the sweet, bitter, roasty and bourbony flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it’s a bit slick and coating with a decent amount of carbonation. I like this brew a lot, I’m glad I got a growler of it. I think it’s definitely worth trying, and I know I wouldn’t mind getting this again in the future.
