At Gingerman NYC with Taylor. Pours black with very minimal head. Aroma is fresh barrel, muted roasted malt, with slight booze. Taste is a burst of various flavors. I really like this, it is interesting and complex. Nice oaky barrel, boozy bourbon that melds with the beer and does not overpower it, dark/burnt roasted malt notes that meld with the barrel and booze in a complex way, there is a slight light malt reach barley note in there too, finish is marshmallow barrel chocolate snooze that stays strong for a long time and final ends with nice booze and charred notes. Fantastic, and completely unexpected. rondphoto (4468) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - JUN 10, 2014
@ Chief Market / Lima OH --- Opaque black with a thick brown head that drops to a solid cover, streamers of lace. Taste is as big as the 11% abv implies: Full roasted semi-sweet chocolate malt that adds vanilla and becomes bolder in the palate, moving to a finish that is both bitter and bourbon. A huge drink that is impossible for me to finish comfortably (12 oz bottle) in one sitting. Well-conceived, and well-balanced. Danyel (1606) - Colorado, USA - JUN 15, 2014
Bottle. Pours black with tan head. Aroma is very complex, vanilla, chocolate, hazelnuts, a bit roasty. Taste is rich, great carbonation, nitty, dry. Really Delish! Huhzubendah (3709) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 18, 2014

Served alongside the standard Siberian Night.
The beer is opaque and near black with a thin beige cap. Sparse lacing. The aroma offers bourbon, oak, roast, malt, char. The base beer is definitely recognizable throughout, and not overrun by the barrel character. Milk chocolates and bourbon. Mild sweetness and seriously delicious. Outstanding.

Great balance in this RIS, with the barrel aging contributing to a very smooth body and well hidden ABV but mild bourbon aromatics and flavors. Good complexity with relatively strong notes of dark chocolate and dark bread, and more subtle coffee. . pressboxjoe (464) - , New Jersey, USA - DEC 26, 2014
12 oz, tulip, drunk at around 45-50 degrees. Lovely chocolate vanilla bourbon aroma. Black with light brown head that persists as 2-cm ring. Flavor more bitter coffee and chocolate than aroma led me to expect. Bitterness mellows after a few minutes. Chocolate dominates and bourbon is pleasant woody shadow. Vanilla bean and bourbon forward. Other flavors of dark chocolate, lightly toasted grains, oak, brown sugar and hints of roasted coffee. More dark chocolate and raisins in the finish. Tart cherries come through as it warms. Medium/heavy bodied and very smooth. svandyke (249) - USA - MAR 6, 2015
Bottle from the Lager Locker in Frankenmuth- midnight black with no head bourbon. So smooth and good. What else is there to say. conway (2210) - - APR 12, 2015
Bottle. Jet black with a 1 finger mocha head. Intensely roasty with nice coffee flavors. Some oak, vanilla, dark fruit and chocolate support. Barrel character is subdued which really lets the base beer shine through. Rich sticky mouthfeel. Really excellent.
