Draft at Hop Shop. Clear amber color. Boozy vinous aroma. Taste is boozy fruitcake, thin body. PhillyCraft (8323) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 17, 2017
Magnum at Al's. pours a reddish color without much head. Smell and flavor are christmas spice, boozy plum, candy sugar, pear, and other various but aggressive spicing. Hot and warming.....magnum....why?? hman43 (1958) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - DEC 8, 2017
It pours dark amber with a tan head that has low head retention. There are strong aroma from various spices. Aromas of bourbon, honey, flowery notes, and nutmeg. The flavors are highly spiced which include nutmeg and other holiday spices. There is strong bourbon flavors and some toffee note from sweet malt. There are flowery elements as well. It has a full body with a slightly a low bitterness in the finish. Overall, this is a beer which lots of spicy flavor that works well with the bourbon and malty notes. jflopsu (1862) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JAN 24, 2017
Pours a hazy dark red-brown with light tan head. A strong caramel malt, sweet dark fruit and spice aroma. A sweet caramel, malt, dark fruit, winter spices, honey, and bourbon taste. A lingering bourbon and dark fruit malt aftertaste.

Way too boozy. It’s one thing to bourbon barrel age but cmon. There may be other flavors in there but I can’t find them. Drjohnrock (841) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 25, 2016
Draft at MOTR Pub at X______X concert on January 23, 2016. At first I thought this was the regular edition of this beer. But the words scribbled on the tap handle in black magic marker weren’t very clear, and the taste is definitely one of a beer that’s barrel aged. Plus, it was served in proper glassware (read: smaller glass), something I haven’t known MOTR Pub to do much. Nice dark amber/brown color, sweet malty/spicy aroma that’s a cut above a lot of Christmas/winter brews, smooth but rich flavor of malt/bourbon/vanilla/spice with the spice--and, thankfully, the bourbon--not overdone. Very fine beer that’s made for slow sipping on a cold winter night. Fritz123 (1535) - Boca Raton, Florida, USA - NOV 28, 2015
Poured into a snifter at the tasting room. Muddy light brown with small head. No lace. Aroma is some holiday spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, pie spice, anise, and caramely malts. Some breads and toffee. Taste is mild malts, caramel. toffee, spices from the nose, and some mild barrel. Medium mouth, mild carbonation. Slick. Not much in the BA department but it was good. phaleslu (11002) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 25, 2015
Draft at HalfCut, served in a flight. I was surprised I’d never had this before, or maybe I have and just never rated it. In any case, it pours a cloudy amber color with a small off-white head that leaves streaks of lace in the glass while settling into a ring and wispy film. Notes of vanilla, nutmeg, ginger, brown sugar, caramel, honey, oak, and leaves. Light-medium bodied - seemingly a little thinned from the barrel aging - with a smooth, sweet, spicy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Good, and pretty much on par with how much I like the base beer. djd07 (16465) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 9, 2015
Magnum bottle during RBWG Grand Tasting. Pours a copper with medium off white head that lasts. The aroma is spice and oak. Medium mouth, strong oak, spice, boozy finish, good.
