UPDATED: DEC 29, 2013 Tap at Brew Kettle. Awesome! Cinnamon, bourbon, sweet caramel, and a bit of chili heat. This is so good! JaBier (7871) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - JUL 26, 2011
Sample at The Pub during OBW on 7/13/11. Pours a clear copper/brown color with a medium beige head. Caramel malt aroma with lots of ginger and cinnamon along with an oaky vanilla and boozy note. Caramel malt flavor with bourbon burn before moving to cinnamon and ginger. Then it’s back to smooth and rich caramel malt for the finish. UPDATED: DEC 26, 2014 Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a murky reddish-brown color with a small foamy dark tan head that left good lacing. The aroma was strong bourbon and a hint of fruit. The flavor was strong bourbon, vanilla, coconut, toasty malts and a bit of fruit. Boozy but in a way that enhanced rather than detracted. Long finish. Moderately full bodied. Very nice. Dogbrick (12935) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 24, 2011
Sample at The Pub during Christmas In July as part of Ohio Brew Week. The beer pours a slightly hazed reddish-amber color with a thin and dense light beige head that diminishes steadily. Thin rings of lacing. Aroma of bourbon, malt and sweet spices. Full-bodied and smooth with flavors of cinnamon, bready malt, ginger and bourbon. The finish is boozy with a malty and spicy aftertaste. Above average overall. dnstone (3386) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - OCT 3, 2011
Smells like a boozy christmas...ginger and cinamon with bourbon. Hazed amber color with off-white head. Cinamon, ginger and bourbon again, a great winter warmer.

Tap sample at CBW 2011. Poured hazy light brown color with an average creamy light brown head that lasted with good lacing. Good complex bourbon, ginger and spice aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy complex bourbon spicy flavor with a medium to heavy spice sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Complex standout brew for style. ddemmingjr (800) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - DEC 25, 2011
1.5 L on Christmas Eve with Dad. Great way to spend some time with family by sipping on the big guy. Pours hazy, rust brown, dense off white head. Sticky lacing on my class. Nose of bourbon, peat, cinnamon, pear, ginger. Once you’ve taken a sip, esters, sweet honey, bourbon, cinnamon and interesting spiciness pulls through on a long finish. Low to medium carbonation. Quite balanced, nice as the barrel aging wasn’t an overkill. Solid beer. Will revisit in a few years with some age on another big guy. brentfeesh (1208) - Mansfield, Ohio, USA - JAN 20, 2012
Bottle given to me for my 40th, enjoyed at the mayors ball. Hazy brown pour with a light head. Vanilla, bourbon, musty wood, and caramel in the nose. Very nice flavor. Very well balanced. Vanilla, wood, light, light bourbon, a touch of lightly oxidized caramel and a touch of spicyness...nutmeg perhaps. Quite enjoyable. Creamy mouthfeel with plenty of carbonation. Let me also note a bit of ginger. brokensail (16436) - Dublin, California, USA - OCT 29, 2012
Mahogany colored pour with a small khaki head. The nose is quite spicy with tons of all spice, clove, and nutmeg notes. A nice sweetness of vanilla, bourbon, and caramel. A hint of gingerbread, too. Tastes like bourbon and gingerbread. A bit of all spice and nutmeg, some sweet toffee, caramel, and vanilla, too. A touch of alcohol and oak, a little bit of candied dark fruit, too. Bottle. Poured hazy ruddy muddy brown with minimal tan head. Nose was earthy malt, X-mas spice, oak, figgy fruit. Tasted fruity, earthy, oaky and woody, with nutmeg, cinnamon, and notes of brown sugar, figs, and a fruity finish.
