Murky amber color with a small beige head out of the bottle. Strong spice and bourbon nose. Great warming bourbon sense to this beer. Cinnamon, nutmeg, bourbon and vanilla notes. Full flavored beer with a nice use of a barrel. JStax (6505) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - NOV 29, 2014
Draft pour at the source. Kind of pricy at $8 for an 8 ounce pour. Pours a clear copper with a beige head of foam. The aroma is big barrel and moderate spice. Taste is boozy and sweet. Thick body and medium carbonation. Fritz123 (1535) - Boca Raton, Florida, USA - NOV 28, 2015
Poured into a snifter at the tasting room. Muddy light brown with small head. No lace. Aroma is some holiday spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, pie spice, anise, and caramely malts. Some breads and toffee. Taste is mild malts, caramel. toffee, spices from the nose, and some mild barrel. Medium mouth, mild carbonation. Slick. Not much in the BA department but it was good. Draft at MOTR Pub at X______X concert on January 23, 2016. At first I thought this was the regular edition of this beer. But the words scribbled on the tap handle in black magic marker weren’t very clear, and the taste is definitely one of a beer that’s barrel aged. Plus, it was served in proper glassware (read: smaller glass), something I haven’t known MOTR Pub to do much. Nice dark amber/brown color, sweet malty/spicy aroma that’s a cut above a lot of Christmas/winter brews, smooth but rich flavor of malt/bourbon/vanilla/spice with the spice--and, thankfully, the bourbon--not overdone. Very fine beer that’s made for slow sipping on a cold winter night. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 18, 2012
Sample from a 2011 magnum, towards the end of a big bottleshare. Mildly hazy amber brown color. Minimal off-white head. Awesome bourbon aroma, works wonderfully with the winter spice aromas (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg). Good honey and maple syrup notes. Bigger body, good dry texture, lighter carbonation. Great beer. Yes. Tastes like Christmas.

Big ol’ magnum shared by markwise at RBWG, poured an amberish dark brown color with aromas of oak, booze, light spice, and aome veggies. Flavors were oak, bourbon, and light spice. Thanks for sharing Mark. zach8270 (4022) - Henrietta, New York, USA - SEP 24, 2013
(bottle - magnum - 2012 vintage) Muddy brown color with a tan head. Tons of spice and sweet bourbon in the aroma. Cinnamon and nutmeg dominate the flavor at the start but give way to the sweet wood and vanilla hints of the bourbon. The bourbon elevates the spice but not to an undrinkable level. Very smooth and warming. sturmthis (1149) - Bavaria, GERMANY - DEC 13, 2014
Cooper color with one finger head. Bourbon aroma with spices. Bourbon, dark fruit and other spices on the taste.. Leaves a warm feelings on the finish. Solid. AndyReynolds (1085) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 25, 2014
Giant fucking bottle of Christmas cheer. Deck the mother fucking halls, bitches...all yeah! phaleslu (10271) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 25, 2015
Draft at HalfCut, served in a flight. I was surprised I’d never had this before, or maybe I have and just never rated it. In any case, it pours a cloudy amber color with a small off-white head that leaves streaks of lace in the glass while settling into a ring and wispy film. Notes of vanilla, nutmeg, ginger, brown sugar, caramel, honey, oak, and leaves. Light-medium bodied - seemingly a little thinned from the barrel aging - with a smooth, sweet, spicy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Good, and pretty much on par with how much I like the base beer.
