The aroma is peppery as hell; estery, flowery hop. Orange rind. Touch of dry white wine. Spicy, musty.
Looks cloudy, yellow-orange. Ring of pure white head, crown of lace. Sediment and tiny bubbles.
The flavor is orange peel, champagne notes. Peppery malts, touch of spicy peppercorns. Some definite horseblanket flavors.
The palate is dry, fizzy, a little sandpapery. Very bubbly. It’s like a strong mimosa: not really my style but pretty good. BBB63 (6567) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - FEB 17, 2012
12 oz bottle and served in my gold rimmed Ommegang tulip to match the golden foil on the bottle ;-) Pours a medium golden hue with some floaties with a small but lasting fizzy head, spotty lace. The aroma has notes of pale golden grains, some caramel and biscuit, a surprising pear and kiwi fruitiness, a kiss of sugar and honey, along with a touch of woody esters. Not as yeasty nor as boozy on the nose as most Abbey Tripels. The taste is more sweeter and malt forward than the nose with some fruity and earthy tones. A bit of spicy hops and even a bit of sea salt character on the very edges of the tongue. Interesting to say the least, not quite like any Tripel I have had before, a good thing and a bad thing. Sort of got boring after half the bottle. The mouth feel is a tad tepid and chalky, good job of hiding the alcohol IMO. Overall a good beer but methinks it is something I will not buy again. Better Abbey Tripels on the market I would rather enjoy. libertine (442) - rochester hills, Michigan, USA - FEB 8, 2012

Nice amber color, cloudy, with a light tan head. Aroma of citrus and yeast. A very good balance of hops and citrus hop. Slightly bitter on the tongue, but very good.

Golden Pour. Nose of alcohol and fermented fruit. Taste pretty straightforward - Consistent with the aroma. Average Trippel. Nothing that I would purchase again. jimhilt (2626) - Bow, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 25, 2012
Pours a three finger cream head that fades very slowly to a thin layer, leaving a good lace. Hazy amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Sweet fruity nose and flavor is sweet light fruit and spice. Higher ABV is hidden. $3.50 for a 12oz bottle from Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, Me. Ratman197 (15368) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JAN 11, 2012
Bottle poured a hazy gold with a small lasting creamy white head. Aromas of pear, pineapple, bread and light spice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bread, pear, light pineapple and light spice with a smooth lingering fruity finish. douglas88 (9632) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 26, 2011
12 ounce bottle with gold foil. Pours a cloudy orange color with a large white head. The aroma is sweet dusty bananas, some yeast. A nice brew; sweet but not overly so, light spices, banana and some berries, very dry and dusty as if its aged a bit. Enjoyable, triples are often hard to love for me but this was good.
