Pours into my tulip glass a golden amber, hazy and capped with an inch and a half of porous, lily-white foam. The aroma is nice; a ripe, spicy, guava as I bend to the glass, a somewhat biscuity malt foundation underlying the brightness of the hops. The first taste is a mildly sweet introduction to those fruits found in the nose, but backed up by an almost acrid bitter that lingers on the back of my tongue. Everything on the front is pleasant, fruity, almost sweet; but as soon as the brew is gone, the experience is flat and a bit uncomfortable. The lacing on the glass is inconsistent, but sticky as hell, and the head retention is very nice, keeping a lid tight over the surface. The carbonation is just right for the body, carrying the aroma out from the glass and keeping the sticky brew from a most boring finish. Nice aroma and flavor, but the afterward is only okay. I love the great premise behind the creation of it, but it’s not my favorite. nathan30533 (1020) - Clifton, Ohio, USA - MAR 4, 2015
This is a great, simple beer. Only one hop... The amazing citra. Taste the fruitiness in its character and enjoy. kjc51478 (441) - Valparaiso, Indiana, USA - FEB 27, 2015
12 oz Bottle. Appearance is clear amber color with medium, off-white head. Aroma is heavy in the citra hops--mango, passion fruit, grapefruit with some floral evident as well. Taste is pretty one-sided with mostly hop bitterness present. Some malty sweet comes across as fruitiness but the balance is definitely weighted bitter. Palate is medium-bodied, slick texture, dry finish. The beer seems like it’s just trying to show off the citra without much imagination along with it. kkleu357 (634) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 23, 2015
From a bottle. Loght golden body with a big pungent sweet resin aroma. Lots of citrus flavor, but I also get a hint of onion taste. Not really digging the savory flavors or the hint of onion. Maybe this would be a good beer to cook with. Not one of the better citra hop examples kraddel (8728) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - FEB 10, 2015

Taste is intense bitter, citrussy . Very nice , fruity , malty in the back . I am very impressed by the intensity here . Lovely beer !

Bottle. Murky light orange pour. Citrus and pine aroma and taste. This doesn’t seem fresh - bet it would be much better fresh. osu97gp (678) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 1, 2015
Pours a hazy orange with a minimal white head. Aroma of citrus hops and light fruit. Flavor of pine and citrus hops with some light malts in the background. Some warming from the alcohol...somewhat surprising for the %. Zeswaft (1776) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 10, 2015
Bottle. Definitely has the uncanny citra hop nose. Lemony and passion fruit aroma. Flavor is not as spectacular though still good. Lemony, very grassy, and quite body odor-y. barristersbrew (2) - - JAN 6, 2015 does not count
I could have gotten a bad batch, however, by and large this beer does not impress. Don’t call your IPA a Citra based IPA if you load it with Cascade. I am not sure if they did, but dry hop some Citra to bring out that tropical flavor and smell profile, in my opinion. Good initial aroma hints of passionfruit, citrus, maybe some mango, but the smell does not carry through on taste. First taste is met with a boring and, in the grand scheme of things, overbearing piney taste, no doubt from the over used Cascade Hops. Really it reminds me a lot of Sierra Nevada Torpedo, but with about 1% less abv, so you don’t really get to even enjoy what you are enjoying. Save 2 bucks and gain a total of 6% abv by buying a Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA six pack. mambossa (337) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - DEC 26, 2014
Pour from bottle, excellent tan-gold color. Extremely fruity aroma. Pungent apple and tangerine with a taming malt. Wonderful, dynamic hoppy fruit aroma. Tastes much like smell, apple and tangerine, with a sticky hop duality that matches it. Nice caramel malt presence to even it all out. Delicious.
