Firkin version at Barley’s 8th Annual Mini RAF (05/22/10): Pours a clear dark orange-amber color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes quickly. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of orange rinds and yeast. Medium body with flavors of yeast and spices, citrus and some sweet malt. The finish is mildly spiced hops with a yeast and malt aftertaste. Above average overall. Firkin sample at the 2010 Barley’s Mini Real Ale Fest. Pours a clear amber with a thin off-white head. Malty nose with lots of Belgian yeast, but very muted on the banana esters; more like a trappist yeast. Belgian yeast flavor with some banana and clove giving way to a peppery and bitter hop finish. Not bad. Tmoney99 (14494) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 25, 2010
Draft at Barleys MRAF. Poured clear copper color with an average off-white frothy head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate tart citrus and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium sweet yeasty flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met with a good soft beer.

Had on draft at Barleys Mini Real Ale Fest (Columbus). This was the third stand out beer of the day for me. And kudos to the sleeping puppy on the sign. Too cute! Nice aroma of vanilla an cherries. Flavor was malty, bread, nuts, cherries and vanilla. Very smooth.
