3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a little pale for an amber. Aroma is grassy hops dominated with some citrussy hops as well. Malty sweetness peaks through, but isn’t in the forefront. Flavor is similar -- not to style, as it is only slightly sweet with a hefty hop flavor. Bitterness isn’t overpowering, but fairly balanced since the malt isn’t exceptionally sweet either. Not exceptional, but still pretty solid.
Pours a hazy honey golden with a loose white head.......aroma of bready malt, pine, citrus.......taste is crisp, clean, pine, citrus. mzaar (3595) - Varberg, SWEDEN - NOV 1, 2016
Tap @ Top Hops, NYC. Pours hazy amber with a white head. Aromas of grapefruit, malt and caramel. Flavours of caramel, pine, floral and grapefruit. Smooth texture, bitter finish. Very nice. trapped (3484) - New York, TURKEY - JUN 7, 2016
Cask @ Albion, dry-hopped with Mosaic. Murky brown with sediment floating down to the bottom of the glass, medium sized beige foamy head, faint citrus aroma, low carbonation, flat sweetish caramel taste with citrus bitterness and throat-irritating chili like effect kicking in later. longish mosaic flavored hoppy finish. Interesting brew, not sure whether I liked or not. ryanscourt (1518) - Latrobe, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 31, 2016
Excellent citrus malt aroma. Excellent balance between the two. Interesting seeing that their success with this one at the GABF goes back to 2001. mambossa (337) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - JAN 19, 2016
Pours bright clear gold, admirable head.
Nose of sweet gently roasted malt, parfumy flowery hops, funky lemon rind. Flavor has a substantial malt body, a perceived ripe fruitiness from the malt/hop combo at first, then malts drop out to reveal a bright grapefruit rind and flowery hop finish/linger. This definitely is a hoppy American amber, yet hop profile is very rindy, bitter, and lacks a more ripe depth. Still a solid and choice offering if you’re looking for a little bit of a pale ale kick to an amber.
Their hoppiest beer, though? I sure hope not.

Bottle. Pours hazy reddish gold with a fluffy white head. Aromas of sweet fruit--caramel and apricot--and citrus hops. Flavors of honey, ginger, stone fruit, caramel and bitter citrus. Crisp finish with a lingering hop bite. Somewhat oily mouthfeel. Very nice beer! FrenchieK (20) - Barrie, Ontario, CANADA - APR 23, 2015
Cloudy, dark orange body with a medium-lasting white head. Very hoppy aroma with seaweed notes. Very hoppy bitter taste mixed with orange zest, short-lived. Medium body has a nice tangy feel. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - APR 3, 2015
This was poured into a pint glass. Bottle came from Batdorf, Annville PA.
The appearance was a hazy red color with a slim bar pour’s kind of white head.
The smell mainly had a malty sweet caramel malts with a subdued grassy/earthy hoppiness to it.
The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors to combine and give off a decent amount of light caramel notes in the aftertaste. The finish was quick.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat subdued.
Overall, I say this was an okay American Amber ale that I could have again but nothing over the top. hoppopotomous (27) - youngstown, Ohio, USA - JAN 17, 2015
Pours a nice amber color with a good two finger head..aroma is slightly citrus..kind of a disappointment when you have a name like this..I expected a hopps bomb..not the case..flavor is malty goodness with some roasted and toffee notes..all in all avg amber brew pdx77 (1483) - Oregon, USA - JAN 8, 2015
From bottle. Lightly amber golden color. Aroma is grapefruit, oxidation, and toffee. Taste is similar, with some butter and bitter citrus notes. Nice taste, but just a little too bitter on the back end.
