This draft brew from the brewery poured a medium sized head of fine to medium sized mostly lasting off-white colored bubbles that left behind a good lacing. The body contained soft carbonation, was transparent and caramel brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of mild nutty brown malt with some mild roasted chocolaty notes . Its mouth feel is with a palate and a aftertaste. Its flavor contained nice nutty malty notes and was tasty. An above average brew. bluemeow76 (693) - Lewis Center, Ohio, USA - MAY 23, 2002
Definitely one of the better ones from Thirsty Dog. Nice chocolaty taste, great finish. JCW (1278) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 14, 2003
Sweet nutty flavor, some carmel, the sweetness almost taste fruity, moderate body. Oily mouthfeel. I thought this was Okay, but not one that I go out of my way to have again. blank (996) - Austin, Texas, USA - APR 5, 2003
very nutty. Iffy on the ale part, but at least they tried. I could drink this because i like the style, but the beer itself did not impress Tmoney99 (14460) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 2, 2005
Dayton draft. Color was reddish brown with a medium tan head. Complex medium aroma of malt. Medium flavor and body that produce a medium sweet finish. Good match to style.

Had this on draft at the Thirsy Dog in Dayton. The beer is a deep reddish brown with a light brown head. There was a malty aroma with a nut like hint. A medium body wich starts off with a nutty like taste and finishes with a bit of malty sweetness. Dogbrick (13010) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 21, 2002
Good lacing, thick head with a dark reddish-brown color. Sweet honey/brown sugar flavor. CBCPaleAle (73) - Ohio, USA - OCT 26, 2004
Pretty decent sweet malty flavor. I’ve had better versions of this style, but I sure wouldn’t turn down another one of these if offered. Had this on tap in Canton also. Drew (2411) - Kent, Ohio, USA - SEP 22, 2002
Deep brown color, medium to thick body, lots of sweet malts - not exactly nutty, but not caramel either. would be another good session ale. hotstuff (5158) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JAN 23, 2005
Rated at TDBC. Small off-white head that mostly diminished, sparse lacing, transparent, and a brown hue. Malty, caramel and a little sweaty sock aroma. Sweet, malty and caramel flavor. Fairly smooth mouthfeel. Light-medium body.
