Pours a clear brown. Roasted malt nose. Roasted malt flavors. Unoffensive and unremarkable. Cweade (33) - - OCT 3, 2015

malty and roasty and beery. body on the thinner side with a bit of grain. refreshing and tasty with caramel like flavor and cocoa. nice balance but still malty. some sweetness. one to keep coming back to. all kidding aside could use a better name. jsporrer (1144) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 6, 2015
Pours black with a thin tan head. Heavy body but not oily. Nice roasted nuts and malts aroma. Very smooth with descent lingering flavor. It feels more like a stout. Flavor is good but somewhat one dimensional. It didn’t matter to me since it was a good roasted malt flavor and not too much on the coffee side. Flavor lingered in the mouth but didn’t fill up the cheeks like a good stout, probably since it is a little lower in alcohol. No harshness or bitterness. Smooth finish. Really enjoyed this. I tried numerous Porters and Stouts and have only found a few that I really liked and this was one of them. A little more variety with the flavor would make it even better. A black pour that is dark brown around the edges with an off-white head. The aroma has dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and a hint of vanilla. It has a medium body with creamy texture and average carbonation. The taste is mildly sweet with a semi-dry, roasted finish.

1st bottle from my stateside run - pours a deep opaque black with a 1 finger tan cap. Thick oily body - aroma is a wonderful amalgam of malts - coffee, cocoa, roast, nutty - with a small flare of fruit. Rich mouthfeel, deeply flavorful with chewy bundt cake malts in front, light hazel nut tones, long wet finish with just a hint of fruit. F’n glorious brew but what is it? It’s not a porter - maybe a thick stout with brown ale yeast - dunno, who cares It drinks well. sudomorph (1200) - Barrie, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 7, 2015
12oz bottle. Pours a deep black with a one finger, tan head that sticks to the glass nicely. Aroma is pleasing with nice notes of dark chocolate, peanut shells, roasted malts, slight coffee, dark caramel, toffee, and a hint of floral hops. Taste is a balanced bitter. Dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, peanut shells, caramel, slight dark fruits, and as odd as it seems, banana at the end. Medium-full body with a low-medium carbonation. Creamy but not syrupy in the mouth with a soft, round carbonation and a dry finish. Overall a great porter. Dark chocolate, coffee, toffee, bread, and dark fruits. Aroma is mostly malts. Taste is primarily roasted nuts and malts. Overall not the best porter, but not bad. islay (3115) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 28, 2015
Approximately ½ of a 12 oz. bottle, consumed on 5-23-15. Fishy, yeasty aroma with scents of uncooked bread dough and roast. Pours dark brown with an amber hue and a moderate amount of beige head. Produces decent lacing. Simple, burnt malt flavor. Medium body. Ordinary palate effects. Overall, this is an adequately pleasant, old-fashioned craft beer. I can see this being the award winner that it was in the early ‘00s, but it fails to impress today. arn8897 (455) - Trenton, Ohio, USA - APR 4, 2015
Aromas of chocolate and coffee with a little malt. Taste of coffee and chocolate with a little smokiness. Nice porter. Thin mouth feel.
