Pours black with tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, coffee. Taste is vanilla, cream, and bourbon up front, followed by coffee, burnt malt and bitter dark chocolate. Really quite a change from sweet to burnt/bitter all in the course of one sip. Creamy mouthfeel. Good stuff. Strangebrewer (1315) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 11, 2016
bottle. Poured opaque, black, with a creamy brown head. Aroma of alcohol and espresso. Full body, lower carbonation, rich creamy mouthfeel. Flavour of burnt malts, molasses, oak, notes of vanilla. Warning alcohol finish. Gluepot (649) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 3, 2016
Dark tan head on a near black body. Nose is rich with bourbon, coffee, cream and chocolate. Lots of elements here working in good balance. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, bourbon, molasses, cream, fudge, vanilla and some rich dark berries, with enough supporting hops. Dense rich body. Top notch dessert IS. monk191 (2008) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 28, 2016
A very good bourbon barreled stout. Pours a deep brown-black with a tan head. Smells of chocolate, coffee and marshmallow. Taste is smooth, with chocolate and marshmallow, and some vanilla in the finish. Had in the bottle. MacBoost (1916) - Victor, New York, USA - APR 10, 2016
12oz bottle from shelf. Chugged in about 7 seconds. It was roasty, marshmallow coupled with horse dung and fudge. Mediocre at best. Fuck the great state of Ohio and all those who live in it.

Dark black. Medium khaki head. Tasted side by side with regular version. Thick and chewy. Roasted. Strong oak flavor...almost too much for me. Lasting bourbon. I liked the regular version better, this one masks the great toast flavor behind lots of bourbon woodiness. Enjoyed after running my 5th marathon. Thx JSquire. xblanchard29x (39) - Alabama, USA - APR 2, 2016
UPDATED: APR 2, 2016 Four pack purchased at the brewery. Also enjoyed a a snifter off the tap. Chocolate, boubon, and roasted notes. glennmastrange (2883) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - MAR 30, 2016
Bottle. Heavy toasted, molasses and Cuban coffee for the malt, light to moderate resin and earth for the hops and yeast, with background notes of bourbon, overripe banana, licorice and alcohol. Head is small, wispy, light brown with good slippery lacing and good legs, and is mostly diminishing. Color is very dark brown. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly bittersweet and acidic. Palate is medium to full, syrupy, with a soft to lively carbonation and a lightly alcoholic and sticky finish. Can’t remember what the original Imperial Stout was like but this version is big and powerful. olio (10374) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAR 12, 2016

Pours black color with a small beige head. Aroma is strong with bourbon, vanilla, mild licorice and ripe fruits, and wood. Flavor is sweet with caramel and ripe fruits, spices, bourbon and mild coffee notes. Balance is great.
355ml bottle from a trade, thanks Sami! Vertical with regular version. Pours pitch black with a smooth brown head. Aroma of sitngy bourbon, wood, oak, vanilla, some roastiness, chocolate, coffee and butter. Taste is sweetish, bourbony and woody with hints of oak, vanilla, butter, chocolate and toffee. Finish is stingy, roasty and woody with hints of oak, vanilla and buttery notes. Okay, but not quite as balanced as the regular version.
