Bottled. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is alcohol, liquorice, some ripe fruits, coffee, mild roasted malts as well as some chocolate. Flavour is liquorice, alcohol, coffee, chocolate and mild wooden notes. Mild vanillaish tones to it as well, once it warms up a bit. madmitch76 (25568) - , Essex, ENGLAND - MAR 29, 2015

Swan Song at Bruce’s. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Dark chocolate malts, little dark fruits. Mild bitterness. Modest bourbon brings a little spice. Semi dry finish. Well joined up.
Bottle shared with Erzengel! A black beer with a mid-sized most good lasting tan head. Aroma of sweet dark malt, sweet wood, bourbon. Taste of sweet bourbon malt, oak, liquorice, too sweet. Leighton (22306) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 27, 2015
Bottle shared in London - picked up in North Carolina. Pours black-brown with a creamy beige head. The nose holds burnt grains, cocoa, caramel, raisins. Medium sweet flavor with some gooey chocolate, peanut shells, earth, baking cocoa, dark fruits. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Black color, the head is small. The aroma is moderate, there is roasted malt, bourbon, some wood. Soft mouthfeel; nice chocolate flavor, with a creamy character, and a mild vanilla and tobacco accent from the barrel; I like sweeter Imperial Stouts, but this is also very good.
Bottle split at Bruces pad - for the last time, big thanks to LKS, 27/03/15.
Black topped with a decent tan covering.
Nose is rich roast, dark chocolate, spice, dark fruit peel, earthy, molasses, toffee, light wood.
Taste comprises milk chocolate, spice, earthy, dark toffee fudge, subtle bourbon strokes, fruit peel.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.

Bottle (from Brooklyn). Opaque black color, good beige head. Strong bourbon vanilla aroma, some toasted malts and alcohol. Medium-bodied to full-bodied. Sweetish vanilla, some alcohol. Vanilla overdose. A bit too much vanilla. jtclockwork (17264) - , New Jersey, USA - JUN 20, 2013
Bottle. Pours black with tan head. Nose and taste of vanilla, bourbon, sweet chocolate, chocolate syrup, really sweet chocolate, milk chocolate, oak and chopped nuts. The nuttiness saves this from being an overly sweet disaster. Still a bit too sweet for me. Medium body. Benzai (16682) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - SEP 11, 2015
