Barely there aroma with a good looking dark brown pour but simple taste and basic mouthfeel.

12oz bottle - pours slightly murky amber with creamy off-white head. Nose is caramel, wood, brown sugar and a little smoke. Flavors adds a little chocolate and floral hops. Mainly sweet with a lingering bitterness. (really digging the new live Skinny Puppy album). Sticky palate. I like this beer, though I wish it were stronger. Pours tea-like with a quick off-white head that fades rapidly to a ring and an island.
Scent is mild....toffee....dry hay/grass.
Taste is very subtle..caramel/toffee without excess sweetness...grassy dryness..malt.
Rather nice....smooth. TURDFERGUSON (4068) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAY 20, 2012
Bottle. Glowing, mostly translucent amber. Nose is super bready, some caramel, pretty much spot on what I smell in many American made scotch ales. Some are smokey, this one is not. Flavor is caramel, light toffee, bread, and an earthy bitterness. Kinda watery palate. Kinda like a scotch ale on training wheels. r464 (2372) - Earth, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 9, 2012
Quite malty and a sweet with caramel, nut, and a hint of cocoa. Smooth finish and full body, though not at all heavy. Very nice.

Dark amber with an out-of-control head and spotty lace. The taste has sweet caramel malt with an odd overtone of pruney anise.
The finish is hurt by a general lack of any bitterness. Not a very good brew, especially with so many Thirsty Dog winners to drink instead. jtd6628 (362) - North Carolina, USA - MAR 2, 2012
Ok beer. It was malty with caramel spice and earthiness. The aroma was slitly doughy. JFGrind (2071) - Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 18, 2012
Malty Ale that lacks the earthy peat flavor I enjoy in a Scottish Ale. The roasted malt and bitterness are no more than a whisper. Decent Buckeye State session beer. JStax (7180) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - JAN 23, 2012
Poured into a lager glass from a bottle. Appearance is underwhelming, it pours a dark amber to brown with a beige-ish head that dissipates to a soapy looking froth laying lazily on top of the beer. Aroma is definitely malty. I get sweet vanilla, some toasted bread, some nuts. Maybe a touch of leather in there as well. As it warms, the aroma develops a bit. to showcase the more roasty side. Taste is earthy, leathery, roasty. It’s sweet, but not overly so. The mouthfeel is somewhat chewy, leaving the tongue a little dry after the swallow. Spritzy carbonation. A little thin on the back end of the drink, maybe I’m a little off, though. This is definitely a nice session beer. Low alcohol, loads of flavor. I can think of a few people I would recommend this beer to. Mhyzdu (11) - - JAN 14, 2012
