3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Mild caramel aroma, pours a hazy reddish amber with far too much carbonation (a gentle pour filled half my glass with head). Mild roasted flavor, with a caramel note. Highly carbonated, almost aggressively so. The beer isn’t bad, just troublesome and difficult to drink. Tone down the carbonation some, and it would be much more enjoyable.
A fairly standard Scottish ale. Pours a beautiful ruby red with a thick soapy head. Smells good, caramel, malt, dark fruit and cucumber. Taste is more basic, malt and caramel, and not much in the finish. Had in the bottle.

Bottle. Pours clear red has zero, small tan head, dissipates fairly quickly, decent lacing. Aroma is malty, nutty, a bit smoky, dark bread. Flavor is medium sweet, minimal bitterness, bland, water, hint of copper. Light body. Malty_MacHops (688) - Eastanollee, Georgia, USA - JUL 11, 2016
Bland aroma of grain, malt, and mild caramel. Deep dark brown with almost no head. Fairly bitter for the style. Odd note of fruitiness. Medium bodied. ChainGangGuy (4894) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - MAY 28, 2016
12 ounce bottle - $2.49 at Total Wine & More in Greenville, South Carolina.
Appearance: Pours a relatively clear, dark reddish-brown body with a slim, thin, light ecru head.
Smell: Toasty, lightly nutty with a thin shaving of roast. A little fruitiness. Modest notes of cocoa and the brownest of sugars.
Taste: A washed out, watered-down taste of heavily toasted bread given a bit of brown sugar sweetness and a hint of cocoa powder. Light raisiny fruitiness. A modest touch of spicy hops with a very low bitterness. Sweetish, toasty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-low carbonation.
Overall: So-so. ryanscourt (1474) - Latrobe, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 3, 2016
Fairly thin body, not overly malty. Slight swetness at the end but not too much. Very drinkable.

12 oz. bottle from ryanmcfly1985- thanks again, Ryan! Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a small khaki head that settles into a film and ring. Notes of toasted malts, leaves, earth, and brown sugar. Very simple and earthy. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation. Not a whole lot to say; just an easy, drinkable Scottish ale. hopdog (12510) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 21, 2014
