COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smooth and decadent, this velvety chocolate Belgian Stout was brewed in honor of the owner’s chocolate-loving son Noah, with two different chocolate malts, cocoa powder, oats and a touch of lactose to increase its already full mouthfeel. If that isn’t desert enough, we also added 4 lbs each of French Broad Chocolate Peruvian and Nicaraguan nibs to the secondary fermentation. Booming notes of chocolate richness abound with prominent notes of dark fruits. The Belgian yeast brings it together for a drier finish.

Draft at the source. Pours very dark brown with a thin tan head. Chocolate and malt on the nose. Flavors of rich dark chocolate, chocolate milk, sweet roasty malt. Full bodied, lingering finish. Excellent. Took a growler of this home.

It pours dark brown with a brown head. It has aromas of plums and raisons with some chocolate. The flavors feature the same as the aromas with the addition of roasted malts. Overall it is somewhat sweet.

pretty fantastic Belgian chocolate stout. Has high complexity, with a little dark fruit coming through, without taking anything away from the light roast or plethora of cocoa and dark chocolate.

On tap downstairs Thirsty Monk. Really well done- these guys can brew. Super dark and thick- somewhat imposing. Goes well with the warm decor at the Belgian Bar. Tons of chocolate and a pleasing roasty quality. Would be too much if not for the subtle Beligan notes- definitely dries it out nicely. Super drinkable. Alcohol is well done and not overly apparent.

On tap at the brewery, the spores almost opaque black with the deepest of mahogany-fringed hues. A light tan head leaves light ring lacing. The nose on this is of deep, rich chocolate. The flavors are only enhancing this aspect. Dark esters and deeply rich chocolates (very truffle-like) provide a luscious silky mouthfeel and full body. The Belgian yeast strain does indeed provide a nice drier close to the pull. Decadent and absolutely delicious! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
