COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Although few of us will ever achieve the official jersey, there is an athlete in all of us that thirsts to get out. Yellow Jersey Wheat is an American wheat style ale. We use 50% malted barley and 50% malted red hard winter wheat. It’s a light-bodied beer that is perfect for the hot Texas summers. It has a light hazy straw color with a light citrus character.

Clear yellow in appearance with a short lasting white head and a grainy aroma. The taste is very grainy much like the nose with a light mouthfeel. Would drink again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap. Pours a clear yellow green color with a small soapy head. Not very complex at all. Grains, lemons, powdered sugar. A quaffer for sure.

Tap at Dancing Bear. Pours a cloudy light yellow color with a fat white foamy head. Aroma is wheat grain, sweet lemon and fruit, light soil notes. Fairly creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is light wheat, grain, fruit citrus and some dry earthy notes. Not bad.

Sampled at Texas Beerfest. Pours a cloudy yellow with a small frothy off white head. The aroma is a faint wheat grass and banana. Thin mouthfeel and a bit watery. Flavor of wheat and light honey. A decent wheat from Thirsty Planet.

Hey we go, made for the texas heat .. . Poured out a hazy yellow, great head that died down quite a bit- some lacing left over .. . light banana skin, mushy wheat, and barley straight from the farm .. . it was to refreshing for me write anything else, its all gone .. . float like a butterfinger, stank like a bee. ..

Pours yellow into the glass with a small dissipating white head. Aroma is grainy. Flavor is wheaty and pretty one-dimensional. I would never describe this as a ’bad beer,’ but it is not necessarily something memorable.

From the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center Denver 16/09/2010 Floral aroma. Golden coloured smooth on the palate and hoppy with a hint of dryness in a slightly creamy malt finish.

On-tap at Opal Divine’s Marina during Texas Craft Beer Week. Yellow Armadillo pours as advertised, showing a bright, brassy color with a slight goldenrod haze. Good carbonation, but the eggshell white head doesn’t last too long or leave much in the way of lacing. Aroma is faint...minimal even. Touches of grassy hops, wheat, and a hint of tropical fruit sweetness. The taste borders on blandness, but packs just enough juice to keep the palate marginally entertained. Again, light wheat flavors are backed by some tropical fruitiness. Hops are an afterthought on the finish with some grain and mineral notes. Mouthfeel is appropriate, with a crisp carbonation level and smooth, medium-light body that goes down very easily. I could put away an entire pitcher of Yellow Armadillo Wheat by myself without batting an eye, but unfortunately I’d get bored after the first pint. Thirsty Planet’s other two offerings (Buckethead IPA and Thirsty Goat Amber) are far superior.
