Bottle shared. Opaque black pour with thin brown head. Aroma of molasses, licorice, ash and burnt coffee. Taste is super bitter, mineral and ashy, not super pleasant. Palate is med bodied with light carbonation. OK.

On tap at Mikkeller Bar. Pours near black with a thick tan head and a chocolate and treacle aroma. There is a hearty dark molasses, anise and chocolate flavor with a very dry finish that stays on the palate.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a small, brown head. Aroma is roast, some liquorice, slight vanilla, some coffee. Taste is roast, liquorice, salty liquorice, slight coffee. Alright, not special.

Kauge (1834) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAR 20, 2017
Bottle as a gift from Helsinki. BB 22.12.2019. Pours very dark with persistent light tan head. Very coffee-forward aroma and flavour, sweet-bitter, some red berry sourness. Licorice... I dont get. Perhaps just a hint of saltiness. Fine active carbonation and medium body, dryish coffee powder finish. Not bad! Far from the extreme weve used to expect from Mikkeller, but in itself really enjoyable. And Im glad I dont get the licorice here.

Echon (477) - rhus, DENMARK - MAR 10, 2017
Black. Chocolate, liquorice and coffee in the aroma, with flavours of roasted malt, liquorice, smoke, and light coffee. Strong, moderately sweet taste that finishes dry and malty bitter. Full body. Overall, a good porter. This is, of course, a hybrid between Limfjordsporter and Beer Geek Breakfast, but it is leaning more towards the latter. Somehow, I like each of these beers better than the resulting mix.
