India pale ale (without further specification, weird in these times) by this Danish brewer otherwise better known for spiced ales, bottle shared at Nieuwjaarsreceptie Gentse Biervereniging. Quite loose, moussy, off-white, opening head over a near-clear, warm 'old gold' coloured beer. Aroma of old cheese crust, dried oregano, apricot, grapefruit peel, green banana, soggy white bread. Sweetish onset hinting at pineapple and peach with a light 'green banana' touch, softish carbo, light underlying sourishness; soft, bit soapy mouthfeel, sweet bready maltiness, a tad honeyish even. Ends spicy but in a sweetish way, reminiscent of dried old orange peel and basil, but with a peppery bitter note - yet cheesy as well due to age. This probably wasn't too exuberantly hopped in the first place, but age has rendered it cheesy, sweeter than it was probably intended and a bit oxidized. Quaffable enough, but clearly too old and too sweet. This brewery keeps failing to impress me in the way some of the other new Scandinavians do.

2017.10.08: This not a success from Thisted. Watery textured "IPA" without much aroma. Low-medium sweet- and bitterness. Definitely not one I will pick again.

Clear light golden color with big white head; aroma is subtle hoppy fruity, pine, grapefruit, peach, some light malt and caramel; taste is gentle hoppy fruity, citrus, peach, fades into quite strong piney bitterness with spicy notes, lingering slightly metalic bitterness; mouthfeel is rather thin with high carbonation

Bottle. A nice bitter aroma and taste. Could be more complex maybe with more types of hops. A very ok beer to lunch.

Denne IPA har et klart gyldent udseende med et medium hvidt skum. Øllen har en sød og meget frugtig aroma og smager af citrus med en gennemtrængende bitterhed. Medium karbonering.
