COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Huge greige head, fed by lively carbonated black beer. Clear & dry C-hops’ nose, bit of fresh felt, and some dry-roasted grains. Roasted/burnt malts take over in the mouth, until the finish, where the hops make themselves known again. Still, it is the bitterish-burnt flavour that lasts into the aftertaste. Medium to well-bodied, outspoken grist slickness. Very creamy texture of the head. Good, if not really spectacular strong Porter. Thanks to Jan & Charlotte!

Bottle. Pitch black body with a creamy steady medium tan head. The aroma is quite piney with heavy notes of roasted malt, caramel and tar. The flavour is heavy liquorice, piney hops, caramel, roasted malt and smokey tar. Creamy texture. Lovely black IPA!

([email protected]) Very dark brown with a smallish, tanned head. aroma of sweetish licorice and strange earthiness. Flavor is lightly burned with lots of earthy sourness. Medium body, quite carbonated. Not very refined or enjoyable, but drinkable.

(Draught at Pikkulintu) Poured black with quite large and brown head. Aroma contained roastedness, smoke and liquorice. Palate was full bodied with quite a lot of carbonation. Flavours were roastedness, burntness, some liquorice, hops and hint of coffee. Aftertaste was bitter and roasty. The excessive carbonation was the only mildly negative thing in this beer.

Bottle at ChrisO’s pre-GBBF tasting, 1st Aug 09. A malty shell with a fierce hop bark concealed within. Very dry indeed. "Like smoking" someone (tashi?) commented.

It’s black with a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of the typical, spicy yeast, that Thisted uses in the top fermented beers, but also roasted malt, licorice and light chocolate. The flavor has a light sweetness and notes of yeast, spice, licorice, hops, light chocolate and a nice roasted/hoppy bitterness. I prefer the Limfjordsporter or the unblended Ronkedor.
