On tap at a wedding - rating after a thorough sampling. Amber colour with a tanned, small head. Aroma of sweet malts, light hops. Medium sweetness, as usual for this style. Medium carbonation with a medium body. Sweet finish with some fruity notes. Nothing extraordinary, but a nice example of its style. Japalo (1886) - DENMARK - AUG 8, 2011

Amber coloured beer with a nice head. Aroma has malts, cardboard and a bit metal. Flavor has sweetness, malts, caramel, cardboard, a bit metal, and hops. Soft and a bit thick mouthfeel. Not a great brew and the aroma was dissapointing, but it has a more characteristic and powerful flavor than most of the other macroviennas known as "classic" all over Denmark.
